Apple iPhone X display: how big is it, really?

I have the IPhone X now for two weeks and here is my take on it being a true fan of the 6 plus. the main reason I purchased this phone was for the smaller size with almost the same screen size as the 6 plus. I love the size. fits better in my hand and pocket. it is a lot easier to deal with getting it out of my Jean pockets. The facial recognition is fantastic. it opens every time and even in complete dark. I do not miss the home button at all, in fact it is way faster without it, and the bar to swipe to close screens and open the phone is in the same place the home button was, so it was not hard to get use to. It is way faster than my 6 plus was. The notch in the top of the screen is not a problem at all for me. I don't even notice it when watching movies. overall a very nice phone. I have had no lockups or any problems with it up to this point. happy with the purchase.

There's a terminology problem with "bezel." Let's look at the older iPhones and say that it has a metal frame and painted matting. The new iPhone X has deleted the matting, but kept a very thin, low-profile frame. If we say the frame is equal to the bezel, then it's not bezel-less. If we consider the matting to be the bezel, then the new design is bezel-less. In wristwatches, where the term "bezel" comes from, the bezel is metal, but inset from the edge of the watch body, which is also metal. The bezel in watches can be agreed to be the metal that is set higher than and restrains the crystal (glass.) The Apple Watch is bezel-less. This upset metal piece is something that phones generally just don't have. So I would propose that "bezel" is simply the wrong term, and the terms "frame" and "matting" are better.

ILLUSIOCONSIENS, 14 Sep 2017why you say "bezel-less"?
iPhones X have super bezels...apparently if the glass is curved and go to the edge its not a bezel anymore haha...
Bezel for me is when the screen dont go completely to the side wich is the case on the iphone X end of the story.

I hate those weird aspect ratios. They should have done a top area, a bottom area with the same size, and in between that a 16:9 display with straight corners.

It seems that screen size is a meaningless statistic now with phones' differing aspect ratios.
