Just want to correct the last sentence in the firt paragraph... I of course meant that those who need "smart" features are the minority... not the majority.

Baphomet, I agree. God forbid Nokia should make anything for people who don't need "smart" features. Man... In case you missed it, 6500 slide is a mid range mobile with incredibly good features. You know what would be stupid? It would be stupid if mobile manufacturers made every mobile a smart phone with S60. This may come as a shock to you but the overwhealming majority of people doesn't need Symbian, 3G, HDSPA et cetera. Take me... I live in Finland, the home of Nokia, where there are more cell phones in relation to the population than anywhere else. And I don't know anyone who uses their mobile for anything else than calling, texting, listening to music and shooting pics. Sure, some people need "smart" features but they are the majority.
So in my opinion it's pretty shortsighted and stupid to say 6500 slide sucks because it isn't a smart phone. If you need a smart phone, I'm sure Nokia has plenty of them in their E- and N-series. But don't bash on the mobiles that aren't "smart". It's just stupid.

I already decided to buy the Nokia 6500 slide phone, but then I realized that it ain't a smartphone!!! No symbian? Is nokia crazy?
3.2mpx and awesome design, but no symbian? It sucks!

the 6500 slide looks nice, nice and slim with plenty of features to keep people happy.. how ever i dont like the look of the classic?! but ive always been a slide person! but i think both will do good once released

Liking the look of the 6500 Classic. Thinking of upgrading my 6233 for it. What month is it available in the UK? (I know it does say Q3).
Shame it doesnt have FM Radio though.........

PU{T, I think you misunderstand nE2a.. He is saying that nokia is advanced so why not have a SLIM phone that has all the features like k800.. he is not comparing any phones.
and about the sony ericsson software interface, maybe they did not change it because it is already good. Why bother changing it? Anyway, they did change a little by adding flash menu and some phones are also using symbian. From my experence, many people prefer to have the same design but with improved materials and functions, so you can't argue about design.. it depends on your taste.
and you should never need to compare N95 with K800 as you can buy two K800s plus have some spare cash instead of N95..so K800 is out of its league.
Nokia 6500 slide is pretty much comparable to SE K800..6500 slide got better screen and K800 got the xenon flash, so I hope it cost about the same because I'm considering to buy it. I really want to buy the nokia N73 but no matter how hard I try to make my self to like its design, I can't.. but the features are just nice for me. I hope the 6500 slide will cost cheaper than N73 WHEN it is just released as the K800 is already much cheaper than N73 (at least at my place).

Default design? N95, 7380 N93, samsung, LG also have new type of desgin but not sony:/ get it? They have the same design and also same same same software interface compare to years agao =_= and havent have a attractive features on phone :/ but only flash. Haha :/ they need New design and software interface oh.

huh k800i have what function? the only thing good in it is the flash. nth else eh.
sony max Camera is 3.2 only, nokia n95 is smaller having 5megapixel with carl zeiis optics(same as sony digital camera but not for phones haha), 30fps video recording, WIFI, Stereo Speakers, 3.5mm audio pluck, GPS, 16million colour, better Mp4 player, 3D accelator and loaded with a DUAL Cpu for lesser lag, Better software interface.
Sony cpu is slower but wont lag is because for example it is loaded window 98 while nokia loaded with xp and giving more 3D effects then sony's one.
if you know more about comparing phone, then talk about it. dont be a noobies here alright.

N6500 slide is a phone with very good specs, since I'm a S40 fanatic. Does it have stereo speakers? If it is, this would be my next phone. All the best for Nokia.

6500 should be cheap, as it is it has symbian 40. also 6500 slide should not cross the price of N73. but it will since NOKIA will charge more for the slide thing. price is the main factor that can drive these cell phones.

well se k800 is only 47 mm wide & 18 mm thick (not including camera part) which makes it look cute when held in hand (because it looks like a brick in pictures but in reality, it is smaller).. but I like these new nokia phones.. but the design of the 6500 slide could of been better.. function wise, its just nice. nokia is now going aluminium just like other manufacturers.
