It's fine SD845 will win this then lose to A12 and the cycle goes on.

That's great and all, but, y'know, it's a phone. What are you expecting to run on it that requires that much processing power?

AnonD-456831, 15 Sep 2017How is this surprising? Apple always created the best SOCs.... moreAndroid chips was lot better before the A7. With the A7 up to the A8 or A9 Qualcomm was way worse on single core but way ahead in multicore, then with the A10 the multicore difference didn't compensate for the huge single core difference in real world usage and tasks.
And now Qualcomm is at least one generation behind on everything.
Not to mention how power effective Apple chip's now

A11 is the Ferrari of the mobile chip world. But unfortunately it can only be used for grocery (close eco system).

SZTadir, 15 Sep 2017Why is it that android chips are so far behind? This is jus... moreBut another question to ask is... What is even going to use all that power on a mobile device? The SD 835, while yes, scoring lower than the A11, is still fast enough to run whatever app is thrown at it, and will be for a while. It's now at the point where all high-end mobile SoCs are so fast, you stop noticing the differences with normal use. The only way to measure is now in benchmarks.

ios is so limited and basic that this won't ever matter in the least. Of course that's assuming that the score is even real in the first place.

iPhone still has no Download and File Manager, that is a must (basic thing) for me. I won't pay $1000 to jailbreak it on day1 and lose warranty lol

I would be impressed if A11 would be that powerful in android OS ; but they are running in a totally different OS. I don't think A11 would be any good with android OS

The Androids get a kick in, or do they? i mean how much power do really need for day to day use. might be abit OTT but with its bionic chipset im sure Lee Majors will be proud.

it sounds like apple gave android chipset a handicap for several years with dual core, but this year they just floor it with Bionic.

It may blow Androids out of the park but that's still not a good enough reason to buy one.

Why is it that android chips are so far behind? This is just pathetic. A11 is twice as powerful as the best android chipset has to offer!!! And it doesn't even need it. Android needs it...they should just try to get license from Apple to use their chipset.

The A11 is a technical marvel, for the price Apple is demanding it had better well be.

But iOS and Android are different OS and platforms. Even if benchmark for iOS gives score x2, real life performance is the most important. Why don't check FPS in games?
