And then they push out OTA updates, virtual software that somehow can break the real life hardware, and then forcing the owner to take it into a real life service centre to fix.

ZenFone 4 & pro version still not launched in India. It may take one or 2 months more to launch it in India. Then only in 4-5 months new models will be launched.. I don't see the point here..

You all not understand, ASUS is not on Safe Zone anymore like brand which focusing "Bang of the buck" phone like Xiaomi for example, ASUS just being gentle.
ASUS use Mid-range Snapdragon's SoC but look now, the quality of Zenfone 3 after use Snapdragon's SoC is still comparable with 2017's phone (Espesially for camera) like Xiaomi Mi A1 and Moto G5s and Zenfone 3's price is almost same price of them and ASUS has much advance camera hardware than them.
You guys can't trust ASUS but I know why. :)

Not defending Asus in any case , but , i think the reason why Asus since Zenfone 3 was getting worse since then due Intel quitted smartphone / mobile phone chipset business in April 2016 when Zenfone 3 was almost launched less than a month (May 2016) . Because of that , Zenfone 3 forced to use Mediatek and Qualcomm chipset and raised their pricing of their phone . This caused backlash , criticism , hate and shocked from people who have still have previous Asus . Inflation of currency all over the world , non-removable battery on Zenfone 3 (don't know about Zenfone 3 Go Series) and abandoning the Zenfone 2 series from upgrading the series to Android 7 Nougat made it worse . This made Asus fall from their previous success of Zenfone 2 due Intel leaving .
Because the timeline of Intel when still making chipset for smartphone , they subsidied their chipset to all OEM , including Asus who starting-up their smartphone for the phone market . Because of it , Asus could sell a phone with a powerful chipset for a low price , such as Zenfone 2 Series , 1 Series (4 , 4.5/C , 5 , 6) and this made people miss the old days of Asus in smartphone . People was sold due the cheap price powerful phone of first 2 gen of Asus and Asus was cropping a lot of profits caused of that . Can't believe this sh*t has u-turned Asus , damn .......

if Zenfone 5 can keep the length of Zenfone 3 5.2" or shorter yet increase the display to 5.5" by reducing the top and bottom bezel thickness, and come with 4GB ram and 32/64GB storage, I will get it.

Asus need to stop announcing phones then released them 6 month after when they are outdated and already announced a new series. Make no sense.

Another one...yeah Asus launch zenfone 5, 6, 7 in a couple of months, people don't care. Asus still didn't understand what they have to do to have success in smartphone world....fail.
