Now thats a Quality Flagship Killer right there!!!

This is the kind of phone the nexus could have been.

but hell no, google's ipixel has to go the way of crapple forcing people to buy phones at exorbitant prices, crappy hardware and a copy and paste design from last year's model.

nokia, it's high time you regain the market with your phones. knock out google at their own game by providing stock android with good hardware less the nonsense and crap google is giving people.

AnonD-442784, 23 Sep 2017Come on come to the US! This would be my next device for sure. You can get already the Nokia 8 4Gb/64Gb through eBay (US seller, $642, free shipping 2 days) and even from Amazon, Blue or Silver. They are the TA 1052 (HK version), but you can change the language to English as it is pure Android OS (look for Nokia 6 language change video from Youtube).
The phone is a real work horse, thinner than iPhone 7 and faster. The high resolution screen is truly great. The speed is side by side with Samsung 8. The edges are roundish like in the best NOKIA Lumias. The fast Qualcomm charging is great, 30 min and done. You don't miss the wireless charging anymore after you see how fast this charging is. The USB-c you can connect both ways, no more wondering which way it goes in.
I was in deep desperation after Nokia sold their soul to MS who then killed the business totally. I used to work for Nokia and kind of grew up with the cell phone boom all the way from the beginning from 1990's.
Until a week ago, I was using the old Nokia phones I had in my drawer, like 820, 1020 and the low memory AT&T version of 1520. When the el diablo MS even dropped the support to the mobile windows, things got difficult with the windows (= a curse word) phone.
But now there's future again, the sun has risen. There's now life after MS failure.
Well yes, I have never used any other phone than Nokia, so yes I'm little bit biased, or better, I think I'm just patriotic. There's not too many globally known stuff coming out from small country like Finland. I hope this new Android platform gives Nokia the path to kill or at least make a hit to the iPhone hype. Thouhg it is not the Nokia 8 yet, it just beats the iPhone 7 and Samsung 7. But let's see if fhe Noka 9 is the real iPhone killer.
Anyway I'm more than happy with the new Nokia 8. This will serve me years. And like said there's future again.

1440p screen LCD always on display, thats really bad on 5.3 inch phone, plus the small battery. Not a good deal

Also the regular model still not available in eastern eu....

Well, generally speaking (& apart from the current lack of global availability), it's a good news anyway (progressing). The fact that it exists & even confirmed by Nokia (HMD), is already something (at least).

Additionally, let's hope that this upgraded variant of the Nokia 8 will be as a stepping stone/ encouragement for the upcoming Nokia 9 as well. If not for both, 128GB & 6GB, at least it will be for the RAM. As a simple example, like it was for the Note 8 from the S8 (duo). The S8 was/is 4GB/64GB as standard, then there was/is a 6GB/128GB variant as optional (S8+).

Then when eventually the Note 8 came out, at least it wasn't 128GB/6GB as base, it was/is 6GB RAM as standard. So hopefully Nokia will do the same from the 6GB Nokia 8 as optional to the Nokia 9 as standard.

Then regarding its incread price of €90 (€669), I think it's quite worth it too, considering that a good quality SD card of 64GB cost approx €23/25 or so. Plus, there's the other 2GB RAM. So more or less it's not too bad. Or in other words, IF I will have to choose (If I was going to buying it), I will pay those €90 extra for a more upgraded Nokia 8 6GB/128GB variant.
