Just go to play store download emui themes store and then download custom themes from there and apply from their Huawei manager
My phone is now closest to nougat with everything changed and I have even changed fonts of my mobile
Try it hope it helps you

I don't really play games on my phone, I have a PC for that stuff. But I did try some billiards-one I had installed, seems to work just fine.

      I have a noticeable lag when playing clash of clans also in scrolling through Facebook.

Although, I admire their optimization, my 2 years old P8 is still responsive. I am waiting for the V30 to be released in my country. Still hoping for a flat screen note 8 but I think samsung will not release a flat screen version of Note 8.

              Also the Custom Rom development for Huawei Devices is Almost Non Existing and Horrible Because of its Own Kirin Processors

              At least Companies Like Xiaomi have an option to remove their horrible miui by installing custom Roms

              Hence For Everyone's good it's better to get it close to stock Android

All... moreI have seen the latest Version of Emui and Used it its over bloated and useless with Ugly Icons And Ui you Make like it but I don't everyone has a different opinion and likes and dislikes don't force your opinions on others

                I like stock Android and Huawei devices hence for me EMUi should get As close to stock as possible

                  For those who owned this device, don't expect to receive another major OS update next year. This will be the last update of this device just like what they did to P8 and P9 user's. My P8 is eligible for the Nougat update but for whatever reason Huawei did not push through the update. Another annoying software of Huawei is the hiVoice which is very persistently popping up even if there was no permission granted also the related software which is asking you to register on their service but you have to give permission to all.

                    Hopefully the P10 will also get the Oreo update soon after the Mate 9.

Two updates were waiting to be installed straight out of box and like I mentioned, B194 OTA hit my phone a few days ago. A friend had an Ascend P7 years ago, the updates were almost non-existent with that one and back then the EMUI was also horrible - the reason why I initially didn't even pay attention towards this phone. :-D

And nice to hear my phone gets Oreo "soon". So far I've been really happy with my Mate 9, updates are also coming way more often than I ever could've imagined. No, not Nexus-like, but the most recent update hit my device a couple of days ago.

                              I have retired my P9 due to Huawei's lack of updating their phones. I will not look at a Huawei or Honor phones no matter how good their initial impressions are, trust me you will never get update after the hype that there is a Beta version for this or that phone it's a con to get people to buy. They may be good phones but you'll never get updates. I'll save my money for a Pixel XL or HTC or Samsung.
