I'd appreciate anyone's help, cause it seems like HTC or Verizon can't assist me. I have an unlocked HTC One M9, but Verizon based. I've checked for the latest update for my phone, but it says "software update only work in CDMA mode", which doesn't work in my country (Guyana, South America). When I switch it, the network goes off. When it switches to Global network, it fails. So I installed the HTC Sync Manager and to my surprise, it has the latest update for my phone. The problem is that it won't download. I've tried uninstalling, reinstalling, switching cables, switching computers, nothing works. The download is stuck at 1% and won't go further. Efforts to locate the RUU file is a failure as well. Can someone please help me? What can I do? Or is there any other alternative to the upgrade? Please, I need help!

AnonD-703336, 04 Oct 2017 Many thanks! I appreciate the help! I'm going to download... moreHappy to help! Hope you got it sorted out.

You basically don’t need any tutorial if you you’re able to grab an RUU that has the .exe extension. The software would tell you what to do. So worry about finding the RUU

I personally don't like the update and I wish there was a way to undo it (aside from a reset). There are glitches in it. My glove mode, which I use often, no longer works and everytime I initiate a call, it starts with "call ended." I even found a misspelled word on a menu...Sometimes things should just be left alone.

It's really sad how all these updates have to be approved by so many different parties before reaching the public. A lot of people probably don't even remember what an HTC M9 is and it's barely getting Nougat lol. My preferred OS is by far Android but i think it's cool how Apple updates all their devices that came out in the last 3-4 years at the same time. I guess having complete control comes in handy..

....this is one of the reasons Apple can charge so much for their phones.

They actually deliver a high-standard of support to their products.
And this isn't just the OS, but Applications, hardware, accessory, and customer care as well.
Such a shame, HTC, you were everybody's favourite in 2008-2012.
