If Apple and Microsoft can agree to work together for the next 100 years by using a core-sharing system

Apple can use .net one core into APFS and will be able to run windows native applications
it will be a great option for enterprise to consider macOS as an enterprise device

.alpha, 26 Sep 2017Nice try lying. NTFS was built in 1993, Metal is low-level ... more"Metal is low-level API"

So you assume that, DirectX, an API, which is supported by graphic cards i.e is supported on hardware level (just like Open GL) isn't a low-level API?

A computer made by xerox, sold since 1981 for a short time which had GUI and mouse , things many attribute to Steve Jobs.

That was the only Xerox Operating System ever released.

Anonymous, 26 Sep 2017Enjoy your copy-pasta Innovation starting with stealing GUI... moreI'm not trying to debate with you whether the egg or the chicken comes first, but rather let me explain to you about trends and fashions in this real world. Different manufactures might produce the same product with many similarities as general look and feel. However each of those products would have a number of unique features and functionalities which define that particular product from the rest and they are protected by trade mark / copyright laws. Just like when human consume food, we all have to eat for similar purposes, our body process food in the same way, but each culture might have different recipes and different way of eating i.e. by spoons, forks, chopsticks or hands.

I'm hoping that you are not suggesting that you would feed yourself in the opposite direction.

By the way, in Australia we have a restaurant chain called Fasta Pasta, no such thing as a Copy-Pasta, and I don't think Apple would have that either.

AFPS and Metal2 are "okay", not really interested in them until at least 2 years when they get fleshed-out.

The (constant) UI changes are mostly a gimmick, really don't care much for it.

What I've been waiting patiently for is the support for h.265 HEVC via OS X system.
It's a real shame that it took this long, well, at least late than never unlike other units.
There are some Apps that can force it, but regular iTunes/Safari keeps utilising software rendering instead of hardware acceleration... it causes the MacBook Pro to increase the CPU clocks, making a louder fan noise, and chews battery quick. It's a shame because it is an expensive laptop that's not very old (2015), built on a modern the 14nm node, and using a decently powerful Intel Iris HD6100.

Apple did what Microsoft have done long ago.

                          APFS - NTFS.
                          Metal - DirectX.
Support of HEVC (W10 from 2015 support).

                          Enjoy, catching up every time.

APFS is going to break so many older apps.... from last year & beyond.

I'm sticking to my El Cap, thank you.

I prefer macOS 10.13 over iOS 11. iOS 11 has so much changes which results in bugs so that I don't download it now. macOS 10.13 is safe to download directly

I have tried to upgrade my MacBook Air 2011 from Sierra to High Sierra, but setup couldn't complete by saying: Target volume appears to be invalid. The only option was to restart and re-try, but I have tried that multiple times, nothing helped. Tried from recovery mode, but that didn't work as the notebook tried to recover to High Sierra and was getting the same error. I was forced to delete my startup disk and then to initiate "Internet recovery to Mac OS X Lion."
