Anonymous, 08 Jun 2011OMG, this is the update that we all were waiting for???? A... moredo you not think iCloud is new?

syncing over the air with itunes?

iOS updates over the air (delta update i think it was called so only updates the new files)

syncing bookmarks with pc and ipad?

          syncing photos?

notifications when you enter or leave a location?

all this may have been done via 3rd parties but i believe this sort of thing hasnt been incorperated into the os directly yet by others well not via one id anyways

maybe with dropbox if you want the hassle of copying files into the app all the time

dont understand y ppl are so negative about apple. they have made a free software update that brings new fetures to a device be happy. i know i am iOS5 is bringing everything i wanted from my iPh4

cant wait to be able to over the air sync my photos and bookmarks over the air

The phone of the year 2009 was HTC Hero, rather than Desire. & the phone of the year 2010 was HTC Desire. And the HTC Desire was announced as well ad released in 2010 (announced in February, released in March).

Hope, The phone of the year 2011 will be HTC Incredible S or HTC Sensation.

Apple, 08 Jun 2011you may love it or you may hate it but you never can skip i... moresteve jobs never was and never will be a revolutionist.. a stable evolution perhaps is their goal... although being that they don't invent almost anything, they still have a lot of problems with their phones.. (the latest phone at least with the network problem).. their main goal is to make a stable phone with a stable platform and stable apps and they are good at it, but they're so concetrated on those things that it slipped their mind that a phone still needs to have basic options like being able to make calls and send messages.. XD

I had expected more. iOS is getting behind with this update, and the update is not even live yet.

It almost seems as though Apple forgot that the market has changed since the release of iPh4...

So now Apple has the "best" features from each phone competitor in one device. Why U Mad?

I don't give a crap about Apple copying this or Android copying that. They're all copying off each other to try and get customers! Let them deal with it and sue each other.

Funny though, its true bringing up pinch to zoom and not to mention Multi-touch in general... If there was no "copying" at all, all non iphone users would still be pressing a small button on the screen to zoom

Call the iphone/iOS what you want but the truth remains that it outsells any other smartphone out there... It's not about how much it can do and the "freedom" the OS offers... people think just cuz android is more "open" that its superior... If you think like that then yes...But what I and probably the majority of people prefer is the simplicity and ease of use in the iphone/iOS devices and how it already has what most of us need in a smartphone. I've owned Android/Blackberry's and have nothing really against them but in terms of a user-friendly experience iphone is the best and to me that's it's main selling point, because doesn't seem cluttered like blackberry's/Android. The iphone is just perfect for the average user, and the majority of consumers are average users.
