I work at a phone store and the one thing I hate more then anything are iphone updates, i'm sorry but i find it ridiculous that someone gets a new iPhone and the moment they get it it needs to be updated. Now it might seem like a miner thing to some people but in my store and most in the uk if you get a new phone we transfer your data for you, the problem is if the iPhone isn't up to date it will not accept the restore from the previous backup to itunes. Now imagine having to do 15-30 transfers a day and having to update every iPhone before doing that, before you say do it with icloud over wifi, every deivce in our store is hooked up to wifi so it's not the fastest internet speed also it wouldn't be right to tell the customer to use their data to update the phone before I can restore it.

The software updates cause older phones to become buggy and slow over time, to the point it becomes inconvenient forcing the user to buy a new phone.

Second that did nothing but side track to things on a separate subject to try and give excuses to the problem at hand. And not even a true statement to try and do this on top of that.
The issue still stands that they waited to long to work on and start finalizing something that's supposed their only strong point. And then release it in such a hurry that not only do they need major bug fixes but they have to have multiple updates for it.

And before anyone goes claiming on how iphones get updates.....Updates for the sake of them is not the same story. Especially when they are buggy, lacking features, only playing catch up to old android updates, and bog the phone down purposefully.

And sorry but others definitely put something into it. Even Samsung is bringing security updates to older phones.
But while the Note 4 might not even see Nougat even the note 2 could run on up to 7 or 8.0. And at the very least Marshmallow.

But the whole idea behind them only having a couple devices and tailoring everything to their own software and hardware and less features and less hardware and why they can charge more for all that is because they can thus bring updates faster and easier and they are so supremely optimized....
I know... run on to the extreme.
BUt the reality is that they are always rushing these big updates full of bugs and then releasing fixes constantly for months....

And then the fans still defend them and act as if it's not an issue and make the same claims on their quality and how perfectly optimized iOS is.
