and a crappy camera compared.

More manufacturers need to be like lenovo and... morecheaper internal are smaller so they can put a bigger battery in the same size.
they also generate less heat.
The SD835 generate more heat so need more space..
its also much faster..
Still they could made it 8.3 to 8.5 mm and increase battery by a healthy 20% easy that i agree this too thin phone crap is getting on my nerve as well.

one thing we can agree on is that OEM are getting very greedy.
Thanks god i work in cellphone industry and get a healthy 50% or more off device full price its make it much more manageable.

Apple chargers usually charge faster than their rating and Android charger often charge slower than their rating. I bought a USB monitor to monitor my phones and devices charging and battery status.

Comparing it... moreThe idol 4s does indeed cost 400$ but you got to take into consideration that it comes with everything you need (accessory wise).
And yes, 250$ more is definitely worth it to get a pixel 2 over the idol 4s but the 64 GB without expandable storage can be a deal breaker for some people and also relatively big bezels can also be a dealbreaker (a stupid dealbreaker really)
But I'm talking about the bigger Pixel 2 XL here and since a 600$ is a very huge price gap, i would still prefer to get an idol 4s with inferior specs.
Google's phones are not special at all and companies like oneplus can match it in performance (hell, even better since there's double the ram in the oneplus 5 making it more future proof) at half the price.
Same internal specs(and double the ram) minus the camera and water proofing with 1080p display is worth saving 500$

Google has no advertising what so ever and they charge ridiculous prices.
Iphone 8 plus w/ads costs about 850 - 1000$, without ads, and R&D it should cost around 500 - 600$ tops.
Pixel 2 XL without ads costs 900 - 1000$.
Google's pricing is absolutely unjustifiable

Is it worth $250 more? For the reasons I provided earlier, yes, I do.
None of those devices you mentioned can match the pixel in any of the areas I highlighted previously.

First they charge super high prices for their phones, then remove the headphone jack, and they didn't even bother to put the best charger in the box. Wow, google is really becoming more and more like apple.

More manufacturers need to be like lenovo and put a large battery (The P2 is literally just 8.3 mm so it isn't that hard if a smaller company could do it)
If they release a phone with pixel's 2 hardware with better design, huge battery, price it right and market the hell out of it then it will blow up.
LG had this opportunity with the V30 and they blew it big time by not releasing the phone a few weeks after it got announced and priced it at 800$
If the V30 cost about 600$ and bombard everyone with ads everywhere, i assure you that it will overtake the S8 but of course LG has a bad history with bootloop issues and horrible updates
