I would still pick the compact if it is sony. A pocket friendly flagship with a phone screen, not a TV screen.

Only hipsters, trends and conformity...we as a culture are deevolving to sex obsessed, animal and cave mentality.
I can only have full respect for samurai honor and sacrifice mentality, if that is the case with Sony.
And if they do a new design language, it most certainly will be sth more unique than others...just as omnibalance is and was.

Forget your iPhones and Galaxies because Sony phones are really reliable. I'm rocking my near 5 year old Xperia Z plus have the SP which still works perfectly. No scratch, dent or broken screen. Now that's reliability!

when i replaced my z3c by a sgs7, despite everything i read .. i got:
- a screen which can't render the colors as well
- a camera that, yes, makes better pics if i just hit the button in a pinch, but worse pics if i take the time to setup the camera properly
- a body that's weird to hold
- battery life that is identical
oh and, its faster.
so yeah.. i'm back to sony at the next phone. they're reliably good.

Because while being superb in all aspects, it actually also brings not only function upgrades but also true innovative ways to interact with your surroundings.
You can actually record and make your own AR and game avatars, and even create sculptures out of things your phone records...

Bezel must stay on. Bezelless fades away. Bezelless is the future, but destroys the legend of iconic design.

Well it's a Sony, you get good results don't believe in the media. XZ1 might be not my favourite Sony (that goes to z5), but it's quite good. Better than most out there. It's unique, screams Sony from far away, and it's blue xd
