PRO:great phone, mostly clean Android.
good value, (US$193.-Aliexpress, free ship)
CON: no kernel source preventing development of ROM.
Applied screen protector has writing all over: sad.
"Caping" App installed??: Uninstall! Factory reset!
FM radio HW not supported in firmware/App. Test: *#*#6484#*#*
Indic, Pinyin,Zhuyin keyboard installed; not uninstallable.??

In my country (small one, in EU) you can use phone nfc for public transport (and it is cheap and good), instead of extra plastic card. Also for banking, transferring files between coworkers/friends(via beam) etc.. So, yes, NFC could be very usable if you know how to use it.

Just received my MI A1 in the UK. Its a good phone and my first 5.5" I find it just that little bit too big for the pocket compared to the 5" format. I also find the 5" format so much better to handle, it would be good to see Xiaomi offer an Android One in this format.
