"16+" stops of DR? If that's for a single frame, that blows away what the human eye can do. If it's achieved using traditional hdr methods, it's still pretty good, though only about 1/32 as good as our eye.

He managed to obtain a similar experience, in fact, the post editing allowed V30's footage to have more color than the RED camera. The RED managed to get a better dynamic range but not that much.

They still produced crap movies, year upon year new bottom!

Why? Because there is no one left who will use "two buck's" pencil to write a decent script.

Mohammed Habra, 07 Oct 2017I'll be waiting for LG V40 to compete with this monster ...I'm not sure if people even read the article. This Monstro 8K VV is not a smartphone. RED is a high-end cinema camera manufacturer. No phone can compete cinema quality picture. This new camera is most probably aimed at Hollywood et al film industry. Normal people dont need to complain. You only pay ticket to watch movies shot with this thing. No one asking you all to buy this expensive camera. Chances are it would be a waste in the hand of unskilled average people.

I wanna see new Nokia (HMD Global) smartphone with big sensor (~ 1/1.2 - 1/1,5 sensor size) like Nokia 808 PureView. Maybe even one ~ 4,7-5 inches (Sony Compact, iPhone 8) and another ~ 5,5-5,7 inches (Note 8, iPhone 8P). And aslo xenon flash, IP68 certified or IP54 and removable battery, AMOLED , FM radio, HDMI port, good loudspeaker, 3.5mm jack (its madness that you have to mention 3,5...), extensive manual controls etc.
