Samsung Galaxy Note9 to have under-display fingerprint sensor

09 October 2017
This was first rumored for its predecessor, but as we all know the Note8 opted for an awkward off-center position on the back.

While we wait for it, Apple is duping millions for Face ID. Their temporary band-aid they will hype up for not having Touch ID under the display on time for their 10th anniversary iPhone. Heck, they can barely sell enough for the Holiday season thanks to Face ID.

Face ID was never their true offering. Band-aid feature. Should be called iPhone 10 Months because next September, a better one with Touch ID will be announced.

Could you share he links btw. Am looking forward to even better photos and video on the Samsung Flagships.

The DAC story of G6( not worldwide) was not good idea.

Snapdragon S/ Note with SD is not only USA, but also Canada and China.

I hope Samsung develops that 1000fps sensor they said they're working on. And I hope they add a 12MP 60p 10-bit readout speed on it (along with dual pixel). That should seriously improve the dynamic range and sharpness even further (also low light). That would be one beat of a sensor.

The Exynos 8895 that does duty on the Note 8 and S8 and S8 Plus can do 4k at 120fps. Despite this the video frame rates are limited to 4k 30p only because the Snapdragon 835 version can ONLY do 30p. Even the earlier Snapdragon versions were slouches at high frame rate video. Samsung should make one version of their Note or S Series that does like 15-30fps @ 12MP burst (for high speed sports photography) and 4k at like 100-200 Mbps for Filmmakers (use VP9 if the H265 is an issue with Snapdragon and Royalties).

Also I would love to see a 10-bit 4-2-2 video version of VP9. Charge $99 over the price of the device, as a SEPARATE fee if they want. Sony and Panasonic do that for some features on their ILCs.

There are so many things that can change or be introduced in smartphones. Companies are not innovating enough.

I was sure it was supposed to come to the S9. If it doesn't, I'll really be disappointed. It's supposedly around the corner, yet there's not much new tech that looks that interesting that it could be carrying over the S8. The S8 was already a zero upgrade over the S7, apart from smaller screen bezels.

I am not missing a fingerprint reader. They never work with me. One reason is that when I do hard labour where I use my hand, my fingertips seem to smoothen so the reader doesn't work. The this backside version doesn't read correct about 9/10. Iris scanner in S8 is good. Though it is struggling in even slight backlight situations and in full sunshine.

We don't need a new flagship phone every year! One every 3 years should be the norm..
