I don't need need wires to transfer files. I know it's slow, but it's very convenient. I also use MEGA and google drive for storing my really important files. So I really don't care about SDslot as long as the phone has 100+ Gbs of internal storage.

Am I the only one who thinks the bezels on the My Mix 1 are thinner than on the My mix 2 ?

Samsung and Xiaomi devices are much easier to service. Apple uses its own proprietary screws.
With Redmi Note 4, the battery is easily accessible, and anyone with a T5 screwdriver and prytool can replace it on their own. Apple device requires more complex disassembly.
And even if you do fix your Apple, one update later it'll get bricked with Error 53, just because home button isn't paired to the motherboard.
So no, I'd much rather have Xiaomi repaired than Apple.

The worst successor in the history of successors.
A battery that is reduced by a whopping 1000 mAh. No 3.5 mm headphone jack. Didn't add the SD card slot. Doesn't look as stunning & bezel-less as the original Mi Mix and has a smaller STB ratio. Pricier by $100.

A downgrade. Just buy the old one otherwise, the G6 or V30 beats this easily.

The truth is most of the problems i had with apple they can easily fix and replace with no cost. That's why i've been with them for a long time. And about wiping your data without consent any foolish person would know you should always backup your stuff before you visit a repair person... so that he/she can do whatever with it to ensure you are good to go. Try having a person to even look at your device with Samsung/XiaoMi etc. So think kindly before you even try.

It's a great phone except it is worse than its predecessor.
Smaller screen (which is made far smaller due to the weird aspect ratio)
Far smaller battery which is *certain* to translate in real life use
Basically same performance, yes the SoC is less power-hungry but that is greatly offset by the far smaller battery.
Chunkier bezels and same thickness.
And despite all those it manages to hold quite less to its body.
Also it doesn't solve the two outstanding problems of Mi Mix 1. The low res and the bad camera(s).
So -yeah- like with the rest of the 2017 flagship "not an improvement" , probably a step back.
2016 was huge for phones. So huge in fact that Apart from Apple the rest can't top their last year's flagships...

If anything happens to your iPhone, Apple will give you middle finger with one hand and outstretched palm with the other. $269 flat rate repair fee. And full data wipe without your consent.
Both Samsung and Apple will release updates that slowly slows down you current phone. Apple does it more frequently just before launch of new devices.
The only company that seems to be caring is Xiaomi. Not only you get the keys from your phone's bootloader, you can root it, install dozen other ROMs and still maintain warranty. In Mi Centes, you bring your proof of purchase receipt along with your faulty device and within few weeks, you have new one or repaired one free of charge.
That and many other points makes Xiaomi choice a no-brainer.
Even Samsung doesn't like you taking control of your device, and there's a high risk that root will brick your phone.

I would also add running a phone backup is much more convenient having an sd card than needing a usb drive & cable handy. I realise this phone is cheaper than an iPhone but it really annoys me that companies get away with charging an extra $200-$400 just for an extra 100gb of space. The price of storage for portable hard-drives & usbs plateaued 3 years ago yet sheep still give Apple & Samsung their money.

Direct SD card transfer data to laptop is much stable and faster than connecting using USB. Plus if the phone crashed, i can still retrieve the data if i stored in on my SD Card. There are many many conveniences SD card slot provides.
