Sony Ericsson Xperia Pro launch date pushed back to late July

11 June, 2011
Although it was announced back with the Xperia Arc, Neo and PLAY, the Sony Ericsson Xperia Pro is yet to see a proper launch date. Although the pre-booking for the phone began in the UK...

      Anonymous, 11 Jun 2011The Xperia Neo hasn't really hit the shelves yet in the UK ... moreYes, I emailed Gsmarena on the same issue a couple of days, it is pretty weird that it is allowed to be down for a week... :-(

      And sad sad sad they have pushed back the pro.... But since there are no serious contender with
      * Android
      * QWERTY
      * FWVGA
      * one hand operable non-huge screen
      I guess they know we don't have an alternative to buy in Europe. :-{

          The Xperia Neo hasn't really hit the shelves yet in the UK - I saw (a non working) one on display in the Carphone Warehouse about a month ago and they said they could get me one in 2 days, but, recently, the Neo has disappeared from displays (I saw one in another branch of CPW as well). I've also noticed that the Xperia Arc is currently becoming a rare beast - Vodafone online has said that it was out of stock for a while now and I've noticed fewer and fewer Arcs on display in stores. My guess is that SE are focussing all their efforts on ensuring adequate supplies of the Xperia Play.
          BTW on an unrelated subject - perhaps GSM Arena should find out what's happened to the Sony Ericsson Community, which offers an alternative cloud based backup service for phones supporting SynML or Android - it's been unavailable for a week now. Has it been hacked, or are SE just taking precautions to prevent further hacking of thier services?

            I've been waiting for this thing since it was announced. Sony's failure to deliver a single-core on time in the fast coming multi-core phone landscape killed it.

            I can't wait until late july for tech from early 2011! New iPhone will probably be announced by then too.

            you just lost a customer.

                        It doesn't have a xenon flash. It is however use Sony's back illuminated Exmor R sensor, which has good performane in low light.
