Others also build off of and perfect those things.
Apple just takes credit, waits too long to incorporate, and does not always do it that well.

This isn't a surprise at all, considering that LG Display has made ALL of the panels for:
                  iPhone 8 & 8 Plus
                  iPhone 7 & 7 Plus
                  iPhone 6S & 6S Plus
                  iPhone 6 & 6 Plus
iPhone SE (with a small percentage made by Incell)
                  iPhone 5S
                  iPhone 5C
iPhone 5 (65% made by LG, 35% made by Sharp)

Since the iPhone 5, the ONLY iPhone where Apple has sourced panels from a manufacturer other than LG was the iPhone SE, and it was a VERY SMALL number of panels from Incell (compared to the usual amount of panels LG would deliver for a typical iPhone production run). This is because Apple repurposed back stock 5S panels for most of the iPhone SE's (that's a FACT BTW, not speculation). So when the back stock ran out, they weren't going to ask LG to do another production run of 5S/SE panels. So, they did a short run/pick-up run from Incell. I believe Incell made 800,000 units (SE panels) if I'm not mistaken (it was less than 1,000,000, I do know that).

Apple & LG Display have been working together for YEARS, so the fact that they'd rather get OLED/P-OLED panels (folded or not) from LG shouldn't be a surprise to anyone.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't think Apple and LG have ever had a legal quarrel with one another . . . . as opposed to Samsung, who's had an open legal battle with Apple (and vice versa) for the past 5 years (maybe even longer).

                  :-)

You could have done some research behind this tech and difference between that just face match from photos and real facial recognition. Understand the logic and FaceID was never introduced in any smartphone before iPhone X. The android thing u r talking about is just a software trick and nothing else.
In today's world bringing new tech first halfbaked is nothing important when it could not work as it should. Refine it, make it perfect and then introduce them. Samsung might be in the race of first but not everyone.

That's fake news. The evidence is, Apple is always three years behind Samsung with key innovations, at best. The earliest Apple would get a foldable phone out is therefore in 2021.

Somehow "foldable" and "iPhone" just don't match up. I don't think this this will ever happen.

Ummm LG hasn't had the best history with displays in the past years... I think they might want to reconsider... Lots of green lines, ghosting, unresponsive touch, black screen... now that isn't to say LG is all bad but there they definitely have a less than stellar track record and even have lawsuits against them... Definitely higher rate of failure than many other manufacturers.
