A "mini" phone with 148mm height... Nice. And looking at the render of normal Z17s, it will be pretty much the same size, if not smaller than it's mini version!!!
Adding the old Snap 653 (it's like a dumpster for unsold old sh*t) and the lack of minijack and we have Z17 MiniS as the least desired phone of the year.

Looks like they don't want to sell the Z17s, it looks just way too boring. But hey, at least it's not ugly like that Pixel junk.
The Z17 had at least a nicely coloured red version, this only has bland blue. Back looks just lame and uninspiring.
At least the mini has a much better looking back, and it has a nicer looking turquoise. It has a bigger battery as well, what a joke XD
I seriously doubt that much thought went into this.

Anonymous, 12 Oct 2017to keep it short, what you call forcing is nothing but tech... moreThats a terrible answer from someone who hasn't had to use public transport regularly. I use both. Nothing worse than running out of headphone charge on a busy train/tram/bus. If people still want it then why get rid of it, improve it. Old phones used to use 2.5, why not incorporate something similar in reduced size "powerless" headphones?

Anonymous, 12 Oct 2017to keep it short, what you call forcing is nothing but tech... moreWhat is the nonsense you're talking about? 5.6mm thick devices can have a jack just fine! www.gsmarena.com/samsung_galaxy_tab_s2_8_0
And over the years, the things you said, cassettes and disks getting extinct, they were replaced by USB an the cloud. There's still and there should always be a wired and a wireless solution. Jack on the iPhone was replaced by either USB-C headphones or an adapter., but you can always use BT

Binbin, 12 Oct 2017Unnecessary thing? Oh yeah why dont they remove usb port to... moreremoving the usb will likely be the next thing happening, yes. and yes, for the exact same reasons you brought up. now you feel it's stupid and outrageous, in 2-3 years distance it will be totally normal.

I would LOVE to get a Nubia phone, they're so gorgeous. But I'm nervous about the lack of bands... The Axon 7 has almost every band and I realize I could easily go onto my carrier's website and see all the bands they use but more usually makes me feel better :) plus... my next phone will have the 600mhz freq. :)

SZtadir, 12 Oct 2017The question is why? Why are companies forcing us to go wir... moreto keep it short, what you call forcing is nothing but technical evolution. devices are getting slimmer and slimmer so no more room for unneccessary things, such as jack. the same story what happened to cassettes, discs, etc. this is how technology evolves mate. if a bt earphone was that crazy expensive, i would say ok, you are right, it's a d**k move from the companies, but this is not the case. it's nearly 2018, time to wave goodbye to wired earphones. only the trouble comes with them anyway.

Anonymous, 12 Oct 2017for those of you crying for the missing jack, FYI, bluetoot... moreThe question is why? Why are companies forcing us to go wireless? Those who want to go wireless can go wireless, nobody's stopping them. But why force the rest?
You can argue that nobody's forcing you to buy a phone without 3.5mm, but when every company is removing the feature, we are left with very few choices. Right now, Samsung, LG, Sony are the only reputable company still holding on to it. What happens after that?
The choice should had been ours, not theirs. Desktop, laptop, etc. still have 3.5mm. Most audio equipments have 3.5mm. I mostly listen to music on the desktop in background while working. So I have a good quality headphone for that. But if this keeps up, I would not be able to use it on my phone without a dongle.
