This is not the first update. My XZ1 Compact shipped with version 47.1.A.2.281, and first got the OTA update to 47.1.A.2.324 before this one.

I received the update on my XZ1 compact yesterday, and it seems another thing to note is a change in the minimum screen brightness. It can go a little lower than it did before.

Beautiful phones, but I now have an XZ1... Now my life is much simpler and easier. I love Sony mobile phones, especially the UI and proprietary apps! Yes, it would nice if the bezels were just 2 or 3mm smaller (I like bezels), but I am very happy with my XZ1.

And once Jolla has finally polished their OS to be competent against Android and iOS (customizability/flexibilty, app monopoly, functionality, and advancement of Android with optimization and efficiency of iOS), then Sony can finally move to Sailfish OS and they will have far better control with their devices.

If Sony is really this good at updates with Android, imagine them doing the same for iOS or Sailfish (which only they themselves are using, just like how only Apple uses iOS).

They do provide timely security updates, and do upgrade their older hardware to new OS updates... albeit slower than Samsung flagships. However, the SONY updates are much more stable than Samsung's builds, so it is a decent trade off, in my books.

                                    Nokia should not be praised.
They do NOT deserve it. They have yet to proven themselves.
Until they do, everyone should be skeptical.
Especially knowing Nokia's sketchy past with Harmattan, ties to Microsoft, and HMD's untrustworthy Chinese reputation.

I'm not saying the new "Nokia" devices are bad. I'm just saying, let's hold judgement for at least 3 years... which is enough time to see if they are responsible software-wise (like Apple), or if they're irresponsible software-wise (like Lenovo).

I wonder why only Sony regularly gets these "monthly system updates that don't do much" articles here. Am sure other companies also provide updates.
