Mate 10... moreAn arguably better hardware doesn't equal to a better all around camera. Just look at the Pixel/Pixel 2 series with their single lens camera.
Having said so, Note 8 is a great camera because Samsung also tweaks the algorithms to play nicely with the hardware

Apart from useless PD version it's easy.
I'll probably take (if I can with money even in the EU only Spain have it) the Normal Mate 10.
The only top spec bezeless 16:9 phone.
Maybe 6" it's too big (better 5.5") but for people like me watch lot of video (100% 16:9) will be a pleasure instead of not for all taste 18:9 even if I prefer amoled instead ips

I think it's fairly apparent now that this year Samsung went so far ahead of everybody else even half a year later the giants like Huawei and Apple have a hard time making phones that could equal the S8, which at the moment still seems like the perfect package, be it regular or Plus size, not to mention the superb Note. I don't see anything in those Mate 10 phones that could possibly say that they are any better.

My shout out to Huawei is job well done on the various Mate 10 models.
That said...Huawei listen up; many of us want the regular Mate 10 model. There is a 6GB RAM n 128GB storage option...they should make that available world wide in the three different configurations that I have read about.
But for United States we need the 6GB/128GB and 4GB/64GB regular Mate 10 with all the necessary bands that play nice with the top four carriers or at least the GSM carriers Tmo n Att. They should make it happen ASAP 😊

why so much fuss about ? the choice is easy..... finger print sensor up front, sharper screen , headphone jack? go for the mate.
otherwise if perfomance ,amoled water resistance and ergonomics is what you prefer, choose the pro version...the porsche design is for thpse who like to extra ti simply add a fancy logo on a white shirt.......

If things weren't absurd enough yet, the normal mate 10 version is not getting sold in my country and several other EU ones. The first time I consider buying a phone immediately upon release, they make it impossible! Hopefully it will be available on aliexpress and the like...

Though I prefer v30, mate 10 is more attractive in terms of looks.

So Mate10 has 4Gb of ram on purpose? There is no excuse that it has less ram than P10+. This won't encourage ppl to go for the pro version and make them harder to buy the plain one. It's not just the pro that mate10 is competing, there're a lot of flagships in the market.

What note 8 cant do is: double click vol. button to click pic. from sleep mode, phone starts from off to sound clock alarm, shows calories burnt, wifi signal strength on home screen/ notification bar, double tap to capture screenshot, never froze for 2 years, note8 cant open some large pdf's, freezes, and curved screen makes sketching at edges difficult, fingerprint sensor is faster on mate 8- no need to fumble, and wifi reception much better. In Gallery, no option in dropdown menu to rename and advance edit pic. in any app of your choice directly on Note8. And much much more. Oh, and web pages opening and games loading time is faster on Mate8.
Only thing better in Note8 is the camera apart from getting s-pen.

I love the Mate 10 with the exception of no waterproofing and front fingerprint reader vs rear. An AMOLED screen would have been preferable, also.
I hope the P11/P11+ do something similar with a 16:9 and 18:9 screen option. I prefer 16:9 screens but don't want the phone to have huge top and bottom bezels just because it's 16:9.

The mate 10 vanilla is a much better phone than the pro it just lacks the 6gb ram.
Huawei does know how to make good looking phones, especially considering when every other manufacturer is copying Apple.

It's hard to improve on perfection. The mate 10 is the best phone I've seen in a long time, with a design that ticks all the boxes where my preferences are concerned. The pro is merely a good phone by comparison. I guess it's just there for people who strongly prefer amoled, water proofing or rear-mounted finger scanners, but a lot of people will be misled by the pro label and buy it for the wrong reasons.
