This thing is extra expensive but is obviously for Professionals only. But this thing might be the kick-off of mass VR production. This looks like a very capable setup that can produce high-quality content, and is far more accessible.

Although, you could probably build a decently portable rig with two GTX Titan XPs, 64 GBs of RAM and an i9 (the thermals would be shit tho). And there are also some decently portable generators capable of providing that power.

Made of iron?look at the dimensions of it. though not clearly specified. it seems to me like 205 x 205 x 76.8mm, considering these dimensions and the fact you've placed 17 cameras. a remote control on it. a rec button, 10 GB of RAM. 40 GB of internal storage. dedicated insane chipset (maybe 12 Exynos 8895. or something like this) and all the wires. it'll make sense it weighs nearly 2 kilograms.

That 40gb + 10gb ram is untethered mode. 40gb is enough for recording useless stuff. Connected to PC to do a live broadcast of its 4,096 x 2,048px / 30fps footage, you will need a Core i7-6950X processor with 32GB of RAM and TWO Nvidia GTX 1080 Ti graphics cards.
