21 October 2017
The handset seems to house flagship components inside a U11 shell, but with a fingerprint reader on the back.

Big battery, thicker? Robust? 6 GB? 835? WoW Let me dream till they ask 850$ for this and 999$ for the U11 Plus.

A capacious battery of 4000+ mAh with proper optimization on a high end device will always be a powerful selling point. Pleased to see HTC finally coming to this realization as well as finally divorcing themselves from Huge bezels.
Seriously this U 11 Plus has really captured my interest even tho it comes with the 18:9AR which I'm not that fond of.
I really want the regular Mate 10 but I watched a comparison video on battery test that gave me a little pause. Hopefully Huawei will optimize the final retail units so as to deliver the promised battery stamina.

        this is htc u11 plus

xXENDER FREAKXx, 22 Oct 2017Dude not only HTC, even other brands like Sony they complai... moreWell having a less battery hungry chipset doesn't justify a battery reduction, it's actually the other way around. With smaller processors we should had bigger batteries, but obviously that's not the case.

I assume they bought budget low-end smartphones that have around the same battery capacity, but instead with a unefficient chipset compared to a high-end flagship that we always buy. I have been explaining to these people why smartphone brands don't increase battery capacity but instead decrease slightly for last year and this year's flagships, because chipset are getting more and more efficient with better manufacturer process, but it seems they don't even have that kind of knowledge to know, they still complain

xXENDER FREAKXx, 22 Oct 2017Clearly those people are heavy usage usersClearly those people NEVER use HTC U11
With 3,000mAh U11 would get 6hours SOT easy on daily basis.
Don't tell me 5 hours up SOT isn't power user!

Even S8's struggle to achive that, kudos to HTC

xXENDER FREAKXx, 22 Oct 2017Clearly those people are heavy usage usersFor 5.5 inch QHD screen phones, 3500mAh battery will be enough for 99% of buyers. This 1% stubborn users (who call themselves power users-not real power users obviously, just whiners) will never satisfy even if it has a 10000mAh battery. Fast charger is included in retail box(unlike sony flagships), so it is a plus.

People just never satisfied, this is perfect example.
When U11 came with 3,000mAh battery you botched it should be 4,000.
Now updated u11 will come to adjusted 4,000mAh and you still moaning...?
                    Dude...!??

HTC is now going in the right direction. First, it got rid of the bezels in U11 Plus. Next, gave it a good battery. However, battery should be above 4000 mah for any qhd screen.

Leaks about the U11+: 6" 2:1 display, 3930 mAh battery, minimal bezels, thin like the U11.
This device: 5.5" 16:9 display, 3830 mAh battery, bezels, 9.2 mm thickness.

Those sound like two different devices, which the author states quite clearly too. The device this article talks about sounds more like a budget U11 with a beefy battery.
