They have to operate by whatever marketing rules work in the various regions though. And in China, flash sales happen to be the way to market and release phones. In the US you have to sell your phones via the awful carriers to get sales.
Different regions, different rules, different strategies.

The flash sale is even much more than the Nokia 6 back in January. I hope this phone does sales over 20million worldwide to do much better than the Nokia 8 and the Nokia 6.
