Apple bending, failing, security flaw detected is meh. Same way Sony getting updates quickly, introducing some awesome feature, not bring ois to table is again meh. But Sony bending or exploding will make for a breaking news.

                  Well done to Sony then.

Well, I do believe it was also the same case for Sony in the past, and that GSMArena is no longer surprised, but rather they would be if something has changed, like a Chinese OEM doing that or even Samsung.

AnonD-690051, 23 Oct 2017their customer service sucks. i hope this update finally fi... morePretty much any non-Samsung or Apple customer service really sucks. For instance, the mere fact that only a few to no customer service is available here for LG and Asus (two of my current smartphones that have issues) is more than enough to say how bad are their service.
But for the case of Sony, it's a Sony, which means high quality. I can buy any of their models and be 100% confident that it will be world class in terms of quality, but I'd pick up a, say Galaxy Note 8, and have a 60-40 thought of it being a great quality one or a problem-full one, being in favor of the latter.
So the only way to make up for a bad customer service is to provide a high quality product, and Sony has that. Others, on the other hand, have both bad customer service and bad quality products, with the exception for Samsung and Apple, both of which have bad quality products but good customer service instead.

Nah, I wouldn't really say that their products are bad, but the issues that occur on their products (related to hardware, that is) are so laughable for the price tag that they carry.
Camera distortion is just a software problem that can be fixed even by a noob, but burn in or battery blow up is something that even professionals will be challenged enough to give up on repairing them.

Great job. They're the only "stock OEM" that justifies their stock UI with real fast updates.
(Lenovo takes ages to update their devices!!!)

cyber, 23 Oct 2017very fast, thats good, sony finally catches up with updatesIn fact they always do catch up with updates. And also currently the only smartphone being updated to ANDROID OREO is XPERIA XZ PREMIUM. I am still not getting it here for my XPERIA XZ PREMIUM, as always, my country may take a while for the update to be available here, but what I am looking forward more is updating my daily driver XPERIA XZ to it, I want to see better memory management for multitasking for my XPERIA XZ, since it have a SNAPDRAGON 820, so I would expect better memory management

Sony was the first to launch a phone with oreo out of the box and now is the first non Google owned oem to roll out oreo. But it's not a big news because it is Sony but if it was Samsung it would have been a phenomenal news with catchy headlines... Gsmarena, you'll never learn to be unbiased

If there's always two things that Sony should be praised for, they're their software updates and support.

Fast and fluid UI, thanks Sony.

And battery life will be phenomenal again with the help of superior power management.
