no no no.. don't use this kind of overlay. it sucks battery a lot. also, overlay is ruining the overall smoothness. come on Google. at least you make a kernel level color controller, like super vivid mode in Sony. or XDA made color control KCAL. I've been using it since LG G2 to make IPS looks like OLED by pumping up contrast a little bit. It really works!

The Pixel XL 2 screen is a lost cause. I think we all (especially Google) wanted an alternative supplier to OLED screens, but LG didn't bring a product on par with Samsung. Google will push out a software update to add more saturation to the Pixel 2's. However, the LG made screens on the XL2 are still going to suck. It's sad because the rest of the phone is pretty cool. Better luck next year I guess.

Can't see any differences from photos anyway, those oled screen are disaster. For comparison, Samsung amoled to other oled are like IPS LCD to TFT LCD. They are way behind in this than Samsung, Samsung has 7 year experience in it, while LG has what few years?

Google products are extremely buggy, laggy, defective and unreliable, be they software or hardware. If you want best user experience, do not use a Google product.

Nothing beats KCAL colour control for adjusting everything to do with colour, contrast, white levels and saturation.
