If you have a camera with bad lenses and bad sensor with big megapixel, when you zoom it, its a sure mess... camera with good lenses, good sensor and small megapixel, when you zoom, it will look also bad, so its not all megapixel at all, you must have a good lenses, good sensor that can accomodate the big megapixel count, then it will all be good (this is just for the camera only, phone must have a good cpu and software to process the image as well).

Oppo 2017 in General: They are selling a mediocre phone with a chipset that can't even compare to other phones with the same price point. They say they are the selfie expert but they only added blur on your face to cover your ugliness. They say they have sufisticated OS but in reality these are crap phones when it comes to Software Updates.

That's the main reason I bought a mirrorless camera. And because of its body design and can just lay it down on the solid surface so I don't even need a tripod to make decent photos.
And yes, it's a very good thing that you can buy a mid range phone with flagship specs. Just imagine, you can buy both a great mid range phone AND a used dsrl or mirrorless for more serious photography instead of just one latest and "greatest" but overpriced samsung or apple phone which will lose its value quickly

Light L16 claims DSLR like quality but its too expensive at $1700 price. If there exists a midrange phone that has Snapdragon 660, 20MP front cam, 20MP rear cam, 6GB RAM with 128GB Internal, Gorilla Glass, Full View Display and other bells and whistle in this price category, it would destroy the higher tier price segment... and still will get some hate from "enthusiasts"...

People are in general too obsessed about smartphones and especially their cameras but believe me, if the camera is really so important for you, just buy a used dslr or mirrorless and it cost very low money compared to flagship phones and picture quality will be so much better and you will always have the opportunity to upgrade with new lenses. I bought a used old cheap mirrorless camera and when people see my photos they think that I shoot with professional camera.

I don't know why a lot of hate towards phone with better front cam than the rear cam. If you don't want this phone then so be it. Most people do selfies because its the trend (unless you live in a remote area/jungle/cave where no one is doing selfies, otherwise respect people who buy it because they like it). If this phone has a Snapdragon 821/835 for its price point who would argue?
Mobile phones are categorized to different users (enthusiasts, selfie addicts, casual users and budget conscious), just like shoes (some are for basketball, others for running, etc)...
