Anonymous, 29 Oct 2017You keep saying that not having oreo is going to cost them,... moreSorry, but this is a lie repeated many times by fanboys. Xiaomi promised two-window apps and later it turned out that only phones with Android 7 base will have this feature.

Miui itself is a separate android version. What matters is miui version not android version. You people care too much about some random number which wouldn't improve anything in your phone.

This are only good news to actual customers that aren't expecting to renew their devices and bad news to potential new customers and those that want to renew their phones. So all in all bad news in my opinion.

            That's great news

And I forgot to mention that, having no Oreo-based phones to compete in the market can cause potential future customers to decide to buy phones from other brands that already bring Oreo out of the box or immediately upgradeable. I really think that the complexity of MIUI can cost them dearly because of the slowness in updating the system. It would be useful to develop a MIUI 10 based on Oreo as soon as possible. Look at Samsung, Huawei, Sony, OnePlus, etc, updating. If they want to compete with the big brothers and sell 90-100 millions of devices, as they expect next year, better hurry up.

For Xiaomi customers this is relative good. Good due to the update and have the lastest version of MIUI, bad because this probably means that the MIUI based on Oreo could take months to arrive, about all the Global one.

Xiaomi usually presents their devices before in China, but India is a really important market for them. Knowing that, now I thing that the devices leaked at Tenna are probably the Redmi 5 Plus versions because selfie "expert" centered versions should has front flash, unless you want to sell something mediocre unsusefull in low light like Oppo or VIVO without front flash. We will see. Now I think that the new selfie series could be local (specific) for india and certified there to that market, a least for now. Which means that we'd not see the Redmi Note 5 soon. Hope that with the selfie expert, they release a Global Mi Note 3 with all LTE bands, that has a good selfie camera too. But I doubt it. Only a few days left to leave doubts.

I went back to MIUI (8) after using RR. FYI, RR was my ROM of choice in my previous device.

Somehow, even the volume configuration differs between China and global, with China being the louder one. It's not always China that gets more feature, sometimes the other way around also happens such as the caller ID feature which works only in India.

MIUi is good for high models above redmi note 4 but it's too lagy for redmi4x..

                              If you don't believe me
Just visit en.miui.com and see redmi4x section people crying and crying..

No solution just force to flash stable Rom, beta Rom, developer Rom etc..

Have been a "stock" purist for quite some time, but changed my opinion after using EMUI on Huawei for 2 years and now half a year on MIUI. It may be Android based, but it's just so comfy to use and loaded with features for which I'd need 10 extra apps. But here, it comes with all integrated and they are actually really good. I do agree that such complexity of "frontend" causes the maker of it to drag development for ages, causing phones to get new OS updates with massive delays. That does suck and unless Google makes it modular so that core and interface can be updated independently quickly, it won't change anytime soon. I'm using Xiaomi Mi5 and it's probably one of the best phones I've used to date right next to Galaxy S2.

It's not as clean and fluid as stock, but the gestures and features more than make up for it.
