Have the same issue with my LG G4, at least google are doing something to fix it, LG promised nougat but still waiting in Australia and haven't seen a security update since day one.

This is just like the iPhone 4 with the antenna issues, where Apple blames the users for holding it wrong instead... and their fanboys... LOL just like you Google fanboys are doing, letting them get away with it. Brilliant.
Man the amount of Google groupies protecting this expensive garbage of a phone is just oh so satisfying to see... stooping & going down as low as the Apple fan boys.. how does it feel, being on the same level now?

Every phone is not perfect from day one, but what is most important is whether the manufacturer acknowledges these issues and provides a solution. Many phone manufactures wait till reported issues become wide spread before even looking into the issue. Googles response time is impeccable and gives their users confidence if there is an issue it will be addressed.

For example if your wallpaper's upper half is blue and bottom half is green, the bule and green pixels will be used respectively on the screen. This menas those color subpixels are used unequally across the whole screen. Even if you change background regularly, the background image will still have different colors. Over time the unequal usage of the different color subpixels will accumulate (the difference in their condition will pile up) and be noticable (in form of like color distortion, plotches, ...). If you change background regularly, it will delay the noticeability of this problem, but still there are a lot of static content on the screen that can't be changed with a new background (like UI elements, game HUD, watching 4:3 or 16:9 movies on 18:9 screen (it creates two static black bars at the edges), navigation buttons, Always On screen ...).
Even if you display only pure white on the whole screen (not using any static image) so all the color subpixels are used equally, the screen will still degrade unequally because different color subpixels have different lifespan, and will still degrade faster than LCD, become dimmer.
This is true for all OLED screens, including AMOLED too.

Maybe it's a new marketing strategy. They release phones with issues on purpose and they fix it later. And everyone will talk about those phones, articles will be written everywhere that mention the name of those phones, etc.

As a owner of a pixel XL I can confirm the video on that is horrible as well, camera is only good because of post processing, even then in low light it's pants compared to my brothers S8 or mum's iPhone 7

Google Pixel reminds me of One Plus. The One Plus One a flagship killer, followed by a whack One Plus 2 and now One Plus is just like the other tier 2 Chinese phones Gionee, BlueBoo etc. You come from something legendary to building something that is below par.

I'm sort of confused whether these big companies don't test their devices before launching them for production. It's really shocking to see so many issues once they are in production. Anyways all is well if they fix it quickly
