It felt cheap and started coming off pretty fast..and the screen below had no coating meaning the screen ended up a smudgy mess. It was the one thing I was glad it wasn't my own phone but my daughters.

Can't wait to get this phone and finally get rid of my crappy S7 Edge which has had a faulty screen for the last 7 months and Samsung refuse to take responsibility for it even though it is a fault with the phone! My partner has the P10 plus and it has been a brilliant phone. They even come with a case and and screen protector fitted! I see there are already problems with the Note 8 freezing up. Samsung sucks big time. 128gb enough storage for me and no headphone socket presents no problem as I use bluetooth headphones anyway, but Huawei provide an adapter for those who don't. Roll on 17th November!

Confirmed on Vodafone (on their website under "arriving soon") Its a real difficult choice between this and an S8+. Samsung has a better screen (resolution) and arguably a better looking phone with its taller dimensions but lacks USB-C to HDMI input desktop experience, less memory, no expansion options, still on Android 7.1. On paper the Mate 10 Pro has a better camera but Huawei have let us down with initial software and issues with over saturation before...they need to show us this is addressed perhaps before this can be seen as beating the S8+

Gsmarena did the tests for mate 10 and not the pro which has more efficient FHD+ oled screen.
And sure you can get the S9 in 6 month but would cost you another 300 pounds more as well.

And don't say it has less battery and obselet chipset bcos the only aspect I see Mate 10 pro beating it, is in camera department. Benchmark scores are beat me and I beat you game between the two. Even in GPU. Surprisingly, with the bigger battery in Mate 10 Pro, S8 plus with lesser battery surpasses it by one hour in endurance test.
Honestly, I don't see anything pro in this phone, even the Mate 10 has more pro features than it that's why they're sold in limited quantities than the so called pro. They should've named it Mate 10 lite.

So the FHD+ screen was to keep the amoled panel from soaring the price up. Huawei is brilliant but the lack of headphone jack to Me is a problem

2017: Mate 10 pro gets AMOLED 6" FHD+ screen 18:9
2017: OnePlus 5T gets AMOLED 6" FHD+ screen 18:9
2018: Samsung Galaxy A7 gets AMOLED 6" FHD+ screen 18:9
See what I'm getting at? All these phones are getting seconds-rate Samsung screens meant for the A7 2018. Of course these wont come anywhere near S- or Note line screens quality wise. Samsung is swimming in cash and making sure the competition stays in check.
