jrharbort, 02 Nov 2017You missed the true points, but I'll point out some things:... moreI shouldn't really be getting in an internet argument, but oh well. First of all kudos for buying the best phone ever, that you also never have to charge (I said in my comment that if you charge during night, when I presume you also charge your phone, you should have a battery lasting the entire day). Secondly, don't mistake harder with impossible. Apple chose to have just IP67 because that's what they thought it's eniugh for their customers and not have to spend more on development and manufacturing. In this case my sincere congrats to Sony for spending some more to get IP68 with 3.5 mm also in. It's all about profits and not infringing patents. Regarding the dongles, there might be some which are not crappy, I do hope you didn't spend the time to test them all.

Rafe Firmani, 02 Nov 2017I would love the handset with LG V30 front and U11 back!! ... moreU can buy both and cut each of them to ur liking and stick them together. Pls share to us the result.

        Looking forward to it! Mwahhh

CaptainCommonSense, 01 Nov 2017All you people with the 3.5mm jack really need to get over ... moreAye aye, Captain!!
          Agreed 1000% with you...

Fitbri, 01 Nov 2017Very exciting for tomorrow. Probably too big for me but wha... moreI would love the handset with LG V30 front and U11 back!!
That would be truly masterpiece... my wet dream lol.

Agreed with fitbri, U11plus would be too tall at 158mm (based on leaked video)
Taller than already tall U11 at 154mm.

LG V30 is awesome futuristic device, only 151.7mm tall with 6" screen....
Amazing craftmanship by LG, but its back side is ugly... Desperately need HTC liquid glass touch! xD

CaptainCommonSense, 01 Nov 2017All you people with the 3.5mm jack really need to get over ... moreYou missed the true points, but I'll point out some things:

You say that some phones ditched the headphone jack to make waterproofing easier, yet the phones that removed it tend to have lower IP ratings than the phones that kept it. For example, my $500 USD XZ1 Compact is IP68 certified, with a headphone jack, while Apple's $750 iPhone 8 is IP67... Without one. Try harder with that argument.

The DAC in those freebie dongles tend to be pretty crappy. There's some manufacturers that understand that there's consumers that desire quality audio, which is why we have phones with phenomenal internal DACs, like the V30.

Some of us don't want to have to bother with yet another device that has to be recharged now and then, we have plenty of those in our everyday lives. That, and wireless audio still isn't up to par with wired audio. Although that may change in the future with breakthroughs like Sony's wireless audio codecs.

AnonD-669542, 01 Nov 2017Just wish they released this instead of the U11 at all. U11... moreI agree, if anyone would like to buy an HTC now they will but the plus. Unless there's a huge promo on U11 ahah

So, it would mean that HTC U11+ would be the same or better...
                  Let's see the reviews.

acemang, 01 Nov 2017it's a fantastic phone and very beautiful. much more than ... moreforgot to mention, that updates in europe sucks on htc devices. my htc 10 is still on 7.0, my htc u11 got 2 updates (will get oreo this year i hope). other brands are not better if that matters. still, i dont have security patches every month or 2/2 months and that sucks in my book. if updates are not important to you, then htc is a the way to go, in fact it's the only brand i consider besides pixel devices (that is still not avaible in my country) next year or maybe in 2 years, i will consider pixel or watch the evolution and promisses of software updates of htc devices. for now i'm pretty happy with my htc 11. blackberry have very good software updates on android, but they lost me when they discontinue bb10, and failed on promisses on updates on bb10 when i had the device.

Fitbri, 01 Nov 2017Very exciting for tomorrow. Probably too big for me but wha... moreI agree i wish the htc u11 life looked exactly like the u11+, I don't need flagship specs personally either.

Ritzie, 01 Nov 2017Any HTC U11 owners out there? How's the OS performance so ... moreit's a fantastic phone and very beautiful. much more than on pictures. yesterday a client had an iphone 7 plus, and he asked me what was my phone brand, because he liked alot. and was impressed with the speed of it.
it have a fantastic camera (i've also an htc 10) its miles better, i've 2 mirrorless cameras, and i stoped using them (ofc they take better pictures) but for day to day use, its a fantastic camera. battery life is night and day from my previews htc 10. sound, fantastic...screen way better than htc 10 also. if i've any complain, its that its a bit slippery, because of that smooth back and corners, but it give a fantastic feal on touch. if you are on the bed trying to text facing the ceiling it's more difficult to type vs htc 10. any bezless phone will be much worst. htc u11 corners are 3D, they curve till the screen starts...sometime i open apps because screen is to close to the border...i can only imagine how bad any bezeless phone would be in that department. if i would buy today a phone it would be still the htc u11. it is really impressive, and a HUGE upgrade from last year flagship htc10 in every aspects. in quality, htc 10 was the top drop test of 2016, and htc u11 you already know failed it. in day to day use i dont feel it less durable, i dont use any cover on the screen (nor in the htc 10) and they are both still like new (0 scratchs or bending). ofc metal back on htc 10 gives me more secure feeling but the case provided from htc on htc 11 gives that protection you need for any small every day drop. i had a few 0 dents or anything. hope this helped.

jrharbort, 01 Nov 2017But did they squeeze in a headphone jack as well? *Drops mic*All you people with the 3.5mm jack really need to get over it. You sound like babies that just can't understand one simple thing: the 3.5mm is dying and sooner or later every phone maker is going to get rid of it. The reasons why they're doing this are various and it always comes down to making things easy: e.g. it's easier to make the phone water resistant. Some companies might even through something in return: Apple threw in the "cool" and easy to use (no tangled wires, although losing them might be a bitch) Airpods, because most Apple customers either wanna be cool or just want something easy to use, HTC threw in headphones that adapt to the shape of your ears, since they always wanted to have "premium" audio. Stop whining because you don't really need it : "Weaaaah I wan't to listen to music with my one trillion dollar headphones". Apart from not everyone of you being a fracking audiophile ("I got these really expensive headphones, I'm such an expert in music"), you get an adapter you can use with whatever headphones you want, "Weaaah I wanna charge and listen to music at the same time", Be fracking serious, the battery is going to last you the entire day (almost 4Ah) and even if you are somehow a d*ckhead who forgot to charge and wants to complain about how phone makers don't put 10Ah batteries in their products, you can just charge it for 20 mins and you have 50% battery (Hello ). Come on, you can postpone your precious music for 20 mins. You people need to stop acting like you're the hub of the universe because you're not and the sooner you get this, the better.

HTC U11 is one of the most beautiful phones of 2017, I hope this Plus version will look even better with some new cool color options.

RuffleShandom, 01 Nov 2017I have one and I don't understand what you are saying. It's... moreJust wish they released this instead of the U11 at all. U11 is still too new to "upgrade" and this phone makes it obsolete already. U11 is a great phone though. I've used the case included in the box, carry it around in my wallet. Have even dropped it a handful of times. Still intact and no scratches. Sound is still awesome too!

Very exciting for tomorrow. Probably too big for me but what a fantastic device the U11+ is planning to be. Beautiful, feature full and practical. really like what HTC been doing. The U11 life might be a good replacement or the One A9 which i am still enjoying immensely.

The moves from HTC and OnePlus are confusing. I mean, people were fine without a OnePlus 5T or a U11+. It makes no sense to release a new device w/o the new processor.

Ritzie, 01 Nov 2017Any HTC U11 owners out there? How's the OS performance so ... moreThis is the best phone I ever had! Once you get to squeeze you'll start using it (despite it compromises it's durability, as you can see on JerryRigEverything HTC U11 video, if you use it like a normal person should this isn't a problem at all!), and the missing headphone jack, which is such a first world problem these days, couldnt bother me less... And I'm always using normal headphones... The phone comes with an adapter...
As for performance I've never been let down a single time! Everything is always smooth! And I'm playing all the time o.o

I cannot really judge how good HTC phone is, but whatever it is it seems late to the party by at least half a year. LG and Samsung released current generation 18+:9 smartphones with minimal bezels, HTC doing it now would not make anyone to consider their phone. I believe it would be better of for them to wait until next round of flagships in spring 2018, polish their product better, add next generation technology and then release it.
