looks like Nokia is making there come back =) sure they many not have the best software but then again what makes a good phone is the battery life and build quality which Nokia does have. And this N9 looks amazing

noor, 21 Jun 2011nokia n8, c7 and e7 have got display problem! nokia didnot... moreThat's the thing. It's hard to trust them again after that debacle and failure to fix the purple screen defect. They told us to take our devices to Nokia Care; only to have our defective screens replaced with a new defective screen. It's been 6 months and the defect is still around.

Matt, 21 Jun 2011Controlled demo's which are clearly done by a Nokia employe... moreWell, the thing is, that phone he's using still don't have user loaded apps and it's a fresh device so we can't really see what bugs may be present or will it slow down after a few hours with user loaded third party apps opened in the background.
Nokia said that this thing will launch later this year and that their WP devices will also launch at the same time frame. By the time this phone launches, the WPs will be right around the corner and leaks and/or previews of it would have made it on the net.
The thing that strikes me is that it will be launching later in the year. Not next month or next season. That means that there are things that needs to get fixed or they would have launch it soon.

AnonD-909, 21 Jun 2011remember how everything was even MORE laggy when the Samsun... moreFrom what I've seen with the N8 (we're not talking about Sammy here my man, the company that surprises you for the better at every corner) the final version had no significant better performance than all of the prototypes.(disgarding later updates, I'm talking about the phone at the time of release)
But like I said, maybe Elop has some surprises in store

XG, 21 Jun 2011Tech junkies are finally going to be satisfied... I disagree. REAL tech junkies will hold for now. There's always a few kinks and bugs in launching a new product. Nobody wants to be a guinea pig. They will wait for things to settle down and have the kinks ironed out first. Ever heard of the saying "only fools rush in"?

Matt, 21 Jun 2011Why so little comments on the videos of the N9('s)? I se... moreremember how everything was even MORE laggy when the Samsung Galaxy S II was announced at MWC and the phones present there were so bogus! and now its THE best andoid phone out there, howcome!? Its jus a prototype, obviously the final version would be much more responsive and ported well. Hope you get it now

AnonD-1131, 21 Jun 2011I want to see some real life usage and review before I pass... moreControlled demo's which are clearly done by a Nokia employee that tries his very best not to show the lag...
He swipes everything abnormally slow (no one in real life will swipe this slow on a cell phone screen) and even then there is lag.
for me it's pretty clear then... the final phone that will come out (in like 6 months, knowing Nokia) will not be drastically different.
But yet, I'll stay on this because who knows, Elop might have some other things in store for us, for example rocket fast availability, like tomorrow?:)

Why so little comments on the videos of the N9('s)?
I see that the UI is really laggy if you compare it to (currently available!!) other smartphones.
I'd like to hear some more about this. In stead of people calling you stupid and dumb as soon as you say one small bad thing about their precious Nokia

Jg.gt, 21 Jun 2011Hey android fans,u al jst cant c nokia building another fon... moreWhat the hell does that matter? I'm not buying a phone because within 12 months it will run smoothly...
Android (and iOS) indeed were crappy at their first release but they've gotten better over time. Let's hope MeeGo doesn't need this much time to get to the level of Android and iOS in terms of UI smoothness
