There's nothing special about the edge and it feels like the right side of the edge is about to pick up a touch every single time I try to go for single-handed operation. Not to mention the protruding edge that feels much more weird than a flat edge like any other phones have. Also, a phone with the same chipset feels much smoother than the S8 a few months on display.

That's why it looks faster, but if it had the same animations as an iPhone or a Pixel, it wouldn't be smooth at all. Other companies like OnePlus do this trick. Anyway, it's fast now, but 6 months later it'll be laggy. We all know that

Oh, and updates do matter for a lot of users, so don't come to me with excuses like having features or anything. And I owned a Note8 before selling it. So yeah, I did try Samsung's phones before.

Thats why its edging ahead of stock device while having a heavier skin right?
Again. Bias and misinformation. Thank you for giving a good example.
And yes we know pixel gets the update faster. But thats not such a big issue when the samsung UI is already ahead and had most of those features before the update.
Logic and unbias. You should try it.

Anonymous, 04 Nov 2017A dream phone only because of bias and misinformation. The... moreWell, It's not about the smoothness only, but updates and how the phone will preform after a year or two. Let's be real, Samsung has a lot of work to do with the last two things. Yes, it has 6GB of RAM, but Samsung's UI needs 6GB of RAM because of heavy and unoptimized it is. The Pixel can go toe-to-toe and sometimes outperforms the Note8 with only 4GB. Plus, from what I saw, the Note8 has shorter animations, that's why it "looks" fast. I'm pretty sure if the Pixel's animations were in the same level, it would outperforms the Note.

As I said before, Samsung makes excellent hardware no argue with that, but their software experience sucks. On the other hand, Google makes excellent software with poor hardware. These two complete each other. Unfortunately we won't see anything from them together for a long time.

The UI on the Note8 is far more advanced than that of the Pixel 2. And yet still is neck and neck in speed tests. Sometimes edging ahead.
And thanks to Samsung actually giving you 6GB of ram for a $900 phone instead of 4GB despite everywhere else they still used more expensive parts....It's ram management is clearly better.

With all these mentioned issues that independent testing websites (gsmarena and heise.de) couldn't replicate I start thinking of a conspiracy theory. Is it possible that we're seeing a sabotage here? Somebody who wanted to see Pixel programme to fail? Or is it only bad quality control on LG side?

Google cannot handle OLED displays, they screw it with their phones, if it is lg fault then why google is not blaming it to lg as far as display is concern. Google leave it to the OLED expert and try not to compete with the big 2 in oled displays especially V30.
