AnonD-696124, 09 Nov 2017yes there is a difference and a good reason is the headphon... moreThe only difference is where the conversion happens. The analog signal doesn't appear in the headphone jack by magic, the phone needs to "transform from digital to analog" in exactly the same way.
There is no reason why a high-quality usb-to-jack plug (or dedicated USB headphones) could not have just as good if not better DAC as the one that a phone would have to drive the headphone jack in the first place.
I think that the trend of removing jacks from phones is absolutely stupid, since you can't eg. charge and listen at the same time, and adapters are annoying to carry and easy to lose, but it does not mean inherent loss of quality.

@GSMArena, please perform battery tests with all 3 refresh rates (60, 90 and 120Hz). That should give us a proper comparison with other phones as well. Thank you.

Really want this phone . I cared whether phone has a good camera or not . but in this phone all I care is pure performance , although iPhone X and iphone 8 seems to be the best in performance , but price also matters .

TBF this is probably a solid phone & works just fine but problem is that it's F***K ugly. Sorry Razer but your logo is ugly too. To ALL manufacturers, this is what the public wants;
1. Regular 16:9 screen ratio (18:9 is a crappy gimmick and you know it)
2. Minimal or zero edge bezels to the sides of the screen (left and right)
3. Front facing stereo speakers (top and bottom)
4. Decent chipset (4G, Wi-Fi)
5. Decent memory (don't do an Apple & charge megabucks for tiny amounts of memory)
6. USB C - reversible charging cables should've mainstream 10 years ago.
7. Dedicated camera button (come on people, lets do it right)
We don't give a S**T about gimmicks that only increase the cost of phones for 99.99% of users;
1. Wireless charging (nobody with a brain uses it because it takes too long)
2. Waterproof (water resistance is fine)
3. Iris scanners (not only are they slow they drain battery like a motherf***ker)
There's plenty more but not I'm going to have some toasted cheese. If you get stuck just ask someone with an ounce of brainpower.

AnonD-696124, 09 Nov 2017yes there is a difference and a good reason is the headphon... moreYeah I'm going to have to go ahead and disagree with you because USB C headphones would make ZERO difference to quality vs. a 3.5mm jack because the sound still goes through digital processing and that is converted into analogue waves in both cases so that speakers work in the headphones.

Hope when you looking for fastest phones not judging from how fast those phones when change pages on the menu, you need to judge from how long each phones loading the apps when you started it. But for average user like you, maybe you need to pay attention to oneplus5 since it has more slots like usb 2.0, usb-c, and 3,5mm jack

Those huge front-firing speakers and 16:9 aspects ratio screen with 120Hz just perfect for video and music never mind gaming.

While usb C needs to transform the digital sound to analog which decreases the quality slightly. it's no difference to an average user but a perfectionist like me, i can clearly tell the frequenzy in which a particuler song loses its quality

Which one is the fastest android phone? Can't wait for the speed test.
Btw, I'm a Mi5 user. Looking forward to buy one of these two. Maybe i should wait for 5T.

gsmarena need to explore that 120hz feature, I know how it feel compared to other phones especially when gaming coz I have tried phone with 120hz last year, but I don't know whether the reviewer could notice it or not..

I wond... moreNope doesn't degrade the sound at all. It's just fiddly to use, with the adapter dangling off the phone. Also can't charge device while using headphones at the same time.
Usb type-C as a port for audio, is much easier to snap/break/damage faster over time, due to it's flat shape, compared to 3.5mm cylindrical jack which is more durable by design, cause it can swivel 180° without breaking.
The upside from all this, is that you can opt for other 3rd party/branded USB type-C dac/amps combo adapters or headphones to improve the sound (some models have extra ports for both charging & listening).

this phone is so damn dope! for a first attempt this is absolutely killer. If only they swapped the specs to be 6GB ram and 128GB storage instead, make the buttons a tad bigger... maybe improve the cameras... that's pretty much it really. Great job Razer!
