There is a serious problem if updating XPERIA XZ Premium with Android 8.0.0 causing GPS and Location services to be on all the time and draining battery fast. Once you install Android 8.0.0 no longer mobile display Icons for GPS and Location Services and user is unable to switch OFF or ON as indicated in user manual. This is serious error on part of Sony indicating updating was not tested fully before release and to make situation worst it is not possible to downgrade update to original factory android version. Sony know of this problem but has no solution at a moment.

Device manufacturers build smartphones with a specific battery that can accept a specific level of charge. The battery size and maximum current of each battery are design decisions made by the manufacturer and can vary from smartphone to smartphone, tablet to tablet and so on.

However, traditional battery charging technology does not come close to the full power requirements of today's large batteries. Quick Charge is designed to allow device manufacturers to achieve the full rated capability of the batteries they choose while still meeting the performance and safety standards set by the battery manufacturer.

(as battery life cycle min. 5000) and QC usually spans battery on phone much faster , although they provided Battery Care and Qnovo Adaptive Charging to made it balanced .

NoNaMe, 10 Nov 2017and still no fix for camera disortion? Shame on you sony. They already solved the distortion issues on the 19 MP IMX400 "Motion Eye" Camera on XZP with the Android 8.0 Oreo update last 23 October 2017 with software under the name as "Correction for image distortion" option in the camera settings . It maybe not fixed it all / 100% due hardware issues (most wide-angle lens on DSLR and some smartphone also get distortion issues and hardware issues can't be changed) , but hey , at least they listened and made the fixed by software that can patch it .

Tann Hauser, 10 Nov 2017Well, from a shootout here on arena, Sonys lowlight shot at... moreWell, why does Sony use OIS in its pro cameras and action cameras and video cameras ? Simple, because OIS is the best. EIS is outdated technology.

Do you carry a Tripod with you to get good low light photos with your Sony phone ? Or perhaps Sony should include a tripod with its phones...hahaha

Its really quite simple. Sony needs to improve its camera software or ask another brand for help, as this bad low light problems has been with Sony for years now. Or perhaps use dual pixel technology in its cameras.

Just Honest, 10 Nov 2017The fastest phone is the Note 8, according to Samsung fans.... moreOh no not this time... Check the waves of apple fans, it's just flowing steady and quietly. The Note 8 guys are stomping the forest, chasing and hunting down anything that is not an elephant while very carefylly ignoring the elephant which is the outragous Xperia Trio(XZP XZ1 XZ1C) and the evasive Oneplus 5. That thing is a lone menace. It's all over the net though. When last did you see samsung guys bash anything that is not "Sony bezels". Ironically, they become blind at Nokia, Oneplus 5, Pixel, iphone 8/8p, HTC U11...

Just Honest, 10 Nov 2017The fastest phone is the Note 8, according to Samsung fans.... moreI don't care about which phone is fastest because smartphones are not race cars in formula1 or nascar. Most flagships have similar performance in real life usage(some phone may be 0.1s faster than others but no one really care)
                    But, I do care about
                    1. Bad camera(esp. Bad post processing and bad low light shots)
                    2. Weak stereo speakers
                    3. Smaller batteries
                    4. Big bezels and same design every year(looking forward to next year where sony claims to announce a new design language)
                    Include the following features
                    1. Include quick charger in box in every region
                    2. Include stock file manager and keyboard
                    3. Re-enable double tap to wake feature
                    4. Bootloader unlocked

Just Honest, 10 Nov 2017Wide aperture alone won't really help boost low light perfo... moreWell, from a shootout here on arena, Sonys lowlight shot at 1s shutter speed and tripod turned out best of all.

But you wouldnt need a tripod if the shutter was able to perform at for ex 1/32 or 1/64 sec speed at lowlight would you? But then it would be too dark a photo. And for that you need wider apperture, and with it you would need less ISO added and less ISO noise correction artefacts.
So lets say you got a f1.4 apperture, and could shoot lowlights at 1/64 sec shutter at 50 ISO....I dont think OIS would actually do any help here for quality of the shot.
For moving objects there is already a triple autofocus tech that with more light on sensor would act much faster than now in lowlight, and would not produce smearing moving objects.
I really dont think OIS is so necessary here.

The fastest phone is the iPhone X, according to Apple fans.

Like there's really no fastest phone nowadays really. People in denial will just bash you for saying that a Sony phone beats a Samsung or Apple phone in speed and performance.

Tann Hauser, 10 Nov 2017Actually I believe just a wider apperture lens will deal wi... moreWide aperture alone won't really help boost low light performance. They need an OIS to pair it up with for slightly slower shutter speed.
If possible, they rather should go all the way out to f0.95 because too much light is much better than inefficient light.
I know that their main target is moving subjects, so they should give a different mode for us to use it.

Give us an Auto Mode with enough time to capture images and proper settings.
Then there should be an Action Mode where shutter speed will be fastened and ISO boosted quite a bit higher.
                          And a Manual Mode!
We need the manual controls from their professional digital SLR and mirrorless/action/point-and-shoot cameras on to the Xperias.
As much as I think that their current software is still decent, I think it's time for a change now.

Just some more light in, faster shutterspeed, less applied ISO leveos, less noise correction, more detail preserved....
All that can be done by manual even now on Xperia cameras tho.

And yah, in some minds, the main reason for having a camera on a phone is....to make photos of whatever and then look at its pixels
