I really don't see what warrants this phone to be labelled a 'gaming' phone, it has some good multimedia aspects to it and that's about it.

the endurance rating is the problem for razer phone. if they can work on some software updates which would help in reducing battery consumption, then that would be great

Second most overhyped phone after iPhone X. Call it whatever, but it is definitely has nothing to do with gaming, would be considered decent flagship, except camera and 3.5mm let's everything down with price not helping ether, just do yourself a favour and get proper flahship, plenty of them around

The idea of 120hz on a phone is a welcome one - maybe product makers will notice and start implementing 120hz refresh rate in all sorts of everyday screens, not only overpriced gamer-oriented products. Average human may not directly see every single one of 100+ frames per second, but it does help make the image seem more fluid. And when this reaches mid-range TVs, maybe consoles will take notice and instead of 8k-16k-32k full-sized resolutions or even down-scaling (supersampling?) they'll try to get 120fps into their games even at 4k.

Yeah, I absolutely agree. Overall, they (it) really deserve it. Okay, we can complain (criticize) regarding the lack (sadly) of the 3.5mm jack, the lack of IP68, the lack of 18:9 & the Huge Bezels. But, regarding the huge bezels, this time it's a bit different, and so I even have to contradict (compromise) a bit my own self (that I'm an absolute fan of thin bezels {since S2/S3}). But because they are not huge just for nothing, let's say such as those of the XZ Premium, etc., (that I dislike the most of it), but they are for a clear purpose, and so excellent sound.

In relation to that as well & on the other hand at the same time, absolutely well done & definitely keep it up to Razer, for the Dual front Stereo Speakers, Dual Amps, Dolby Atmos, THX. Also, for the 120 Hz, Dual Cams (although they need some more software polishing), 8GB RAM, 4000 mAh & last but definitely not least, we just can't forget the QC4+. So overall, again, undoubtedly well done to Razer. Plus considering that it is their first phone (flagship smartphone), so it is absolutely promising for their Next Gens.

Truly additionally, let's hope that all the top dogs: LG, HTC, Sony, etc. Starting from Samsung, they'll take as much as possible notes (examples/ inspirations) from Razer for their next flagships, first of all for the S9. Hopefully Samsung will copy (sort of, or better to say to be inspired by...) basically all Razer's key points, and so: its excellent Sound (but obviously with some positioning compromises, due to a Bezels even more shrinked than those of the S8's & Note), 8GB RAM & everything else such as the 4000mAh & definitely the QC4+ from the OLD (very old, or at least it is for the probably? Best Android flagship {apart the Note, etc}) QC2. So LET'S HOPE!!!.

"The lack of a 3.5mm headphone jack was a common complaint, but the THX-certified audio dongle goes a long way."

Yeah sure. It literally goes a long way AWAY FROM THE PHONE. Just look at the given picture on top. Must be really great holding the phone, trying to balance the weight of the unwieldy dongle on one side.

For a lot of techies and heavy users, the best "innovation" would be a slide out qwerty keyboard, but that would mean heavier, fatter devices, which according to makers, people just can't handle these days, although most folk had little problem with ten years ago, some of the best selling phones from them had them, look at HTC/xda range of tytn range.
Not everybody is happy with thin, bendy, jackless, tall phones.
Me,I'd like a 6 inch LCD, stereo speakers, good audio chips, full qwerty slide out kb, swappable battery,6-8 gb fast ram,top end cpu/gpu,unlocked boot loader, etc.Basicaly an updated tytn2 would suit ME down to the ground, many others would like it as well, but it would never sell like jesus phones or top end sammy do.

Not a gaming device if it can't run old games like GTA if not optimised for sd835 chipset.
