OnePlus 5T shows up in Geekbench database with Android 7.1.1 on board

10 November 2017
The OS version it's running is a bit surprising considering that Oreo was released in August.

Zoser, 10 Nov 2017In my opinion there is no reason to buy a OP 5T today, only... moreAnd remember click in "Expand gallery" to show all the pictures with the specifications, etc, in the link I put in the above/previous post ; )

As you can see, again no OIS, no expandable storage, same battery (I expected, at least, a bigger one), mono speaker, comes with Nougat 7.1.1, no IP rating...

Changes: rear fingerprint, bigger display 6.01" and better rear secondary camera with a Sony IMX 376K sensor instead the IMX 350, the rest cameras seems the same ones. Added Galileo support for the GPS. Unknown price. That's all.

In my opinion there is no reason to buy a OP 5T today, only if you only focus yourself in have few more points in a benchmark and want only that model with it's OS having too narrow vision and losing the oportunity of have a better phone with the same money. The competency has at the same price more features and specifications like the IP68, expandable storage, Iris scan, better cameras with OIS in all them, and different types of display to choose at the same time, edge, flat or 2.5D.

Anyway, for those who like this model. Here it is:

This is absurd, for a company that forgets the updates for their own phones after one year and only having a really small catalogue of phones to follow, launching it again with 7.1.1 will be merely disappointing, don't get me wrong, Oneplus is a great company for what it does, but lately the company just bases itself on higher prices and lower updates and maintenance, somehow I expected Oneplus to be the powerhouse it was when Oneplus 1 was launched, everything was goddamn fine, now it is just hype for a later-disappointing (Not Bad, but disappointing) purchase, I know there are roms and everything, but I rather have an official monthly support from a company that doesn't own a huge catalogue of phones, Nokia is a great example of this as for now.

If this is true, it's the nail in the coffin for this phone .
What Oneplus had over other OEMs was the stock like feel with fast updates .
If they increase the price by even 50$ it will be impossible to compete with phones like Mate 10 for example , that offer much more interesting features for a similar price .

This is just like pricing 999 rather than 1000 in the first place.. lol. They did the same with 3t as well when I bought midnight Black 6.0 marsmello.. and released 7.0 on December 25. So that customer gets feeling of 2 major upgrade like 8.0 and 9.0. Haha.. what a silly thought process. Nokia 8 now releasing 8.0 and already promised P update as well.
