27 June, 2011
It seems FCC has gotten their hands on the developer exclusive Nokia N950 and they have managed to tear it apart and expose its internals for the camera, which has led to a rather interesting discovery...

Nokia is good at making good phones but what they should be focusing on is apps support for the phones they produce. Don't get me wrong i have been a fan of Nokia since i was a kid and i still am but its disappointing the little apps support they have. example is the N900 one of Nokia great invention and also one of Nokia multiple abandoned project. like i said i have used Nokia since the 2110 and currently own N900. what Nokia should focus on is making a single OS for all their Phones and also cross platform for all other ones so no Firmware is left out.

simple user, 27 Jun 20111. why you think more Mpix = better camera? I think this is... moreagreed with the 1st point. more megapixels doesn't necessarily mean that the camera is better. Same is with the clock rate of a processor, more ghz necessarily doesnt mean more power or something.
agree with the second as same, dont say anything untill the real device has been dropped onto market.

I've Nokia N900 which as said is a developer phone and still under the developing parent category Maemo/MeeGo.
You can get N950, which will sure be a limited edition, perhaps as was Nokia N900.

AnonD-1124, 27 Jun 2011nokia is working on a new os with similar ui to the n9 and ... moreFirst of all Nokia never ditched Harmattan (Custom MeeGo 1.2)and all about the news Elop is just being silly over there and something but developers at nokia say that Elop's decision doesnt matter at all. Nokia does the same with the developer focussed phones, they release each in almost 2 years gaps (Nokia N900 was released in December 2009)
They're working on WP7, which as said, isnt a new OS considering its been there for 1 year.

Unless you often use white backgrounds on your screen, AMOLED uses less power.
With Amoled you can have the phone as a bedside clock, without consuming to much battery.

But sure, if you browse a lot of webpages with white background, LCD might be the best.

Most users would probably use feature with not so light bacgrounds more than with light backgrounds, and are better of with AMOLED.

Plus non of them has as good lens as the N8.
So they are not true cameraphones.

Besides, Ive read somewhere that the camera drivers might not be complete.
So the lack of support, may very well play a huge roll in this, even if it would turn out to be the N8 module (but it seems very unlikely)

                              1. if it seems to be equivalent why nokia compare it to N9's camera and not N8's one? I'd put any affordable sensor inside it.

Nokia is so cool, doesn't even mention the 12mp camera like it's everyday food for them. When Apple "invents" a 8mp camera and put on a iPhone in 2012 (3 years to late), Apple will market it like it's best innovation since toast bread.
