14 November 2017
The new chipset is also expected to be built on TSMC's 7nm process technology.

Anonymous, 22 Nov 2017Not sure what they need more processing power for, when the... moreTrue. comparing to android. iOS 11 Is still amazingly restricted. (I am an android girl. owning quite a few android products. and ONE iOS product from work)
I have frankly fiddled with the iPhone 8 (later X) and installed a costum version (THAT I PERSONALLY tweaked to fit the A64 instruction sets used by the Ax series. just... don't ask me to do it again. it's a hell to preform. X_x) and ran a geekbench on it. they preformed pretty much the same as stock iOS build. (unlike the modded ROMS available from other sources.)
as for the other sentence: What gap exactly? A9 is quite achievable thanks to A75 CPU architecture. and the A10 limit was broken with samsung's Mongoose M3 core. we still need to break Apple A11's threshold. not to mention A12 that is believed to score 5,200 points in a single core~!)

Does no one here realizes that iPad has a 120 fps display , There are games that support 120 fps , Apple is planning to make iPad a replacement for desktops aka Video and Photo editing work needs performance? Not everything is about those "Speed Tests" on YT if every device's performance is measured via Who can load apps and games faster then why not use that method to test PC performance? Why rely on fps and benchmarks when loading times are clearly most accurate test...

Not sure what they need more processing power for, when their OS is so limited, restrictive and backward.

Maybe, they want to close the gap on the speed tests, now that they have higher resolution screens than before

Who cares if the Note 8 can launch the calendar app in 0.0002 seconds faster than an iPhone. What maters is that an one minute of 4K video will take considerably much longer time to be processed by a Note and thus it's the Note which is considerably slower than an iPhone.

Anonymous, 15 Nov 2017You think that's a speed test of a processor? Lol. Maybe you're under developed or just acting like one.
Benchmarks are also not just CPU tests. They test also RAM, data storage, GPU, etc.
Are this numbers important to me? No. Why? Cause they are just numbers.
Important is real life test and speed of a system as a whole - CPU, GPU, RAM, OS. All this things combined gives the real speed. How long you'll wait to open apps, browsing internet, etc. That's are the thing for which benchmarks are developed in first place. But long time ago, they were compromised. Example - a SATA drive had speed up to 300MB per sec. Do you ever saw such speed on SATA drive? It is achievable only on tests. There is no OS to reach 300MB/s.
            Still under developed?

Bring down the red carpet, king of the chipsets is coming, wondering how many years ahead will be against latest Qualcomm chipsets and other pesky android chips

The A11X should be a beast. 3 powerful CPU cores and 5 efficient CPU cores just doesn't seem right. 4x4 would be much better and more powerful. As long as it doesn't overheat, but the 7nm manufacturing process should help keep things cool.

Anonymous, 15 Nov 2017lol you think opening apps is a 'speed test'You think it was for pure speed test? Having a greater CPU performance in single core and multi core performance is a must. Since mobile OS is now evolving. And the File size of the app could further be increase thanks to the limitation improvements. 3 years from now. We would have encounter some mobile apps that takes 8GBs of internal storage. So if this was the case. How would the 835 perform in the next 3 years or so?

You are confusing CPU with GPU there pal.

First, app loading does not primarily rely on the RAM and storage. It's the CPU that does most of the work. A powerful CPU allows you to process data faster. Don't get me wrong. Both of these effects speed, but generally, in term of speed, the CPU is far more important than RAM. Actually, with the different CPU architectures, amount of RAM, clock speeds, number of cores, the comparison between the two isn't exactly fair.

Second, we were talking about the performance and speed of smartphones. Every single comment I make was about the speed. I didn't talk anything about graphics, video recording and the lot. To the general user, the speed difference between the best Android phone and the best iPhone is negligible.

I actually don't mind these sort of arguments because I can obtain more knowledge this way.

Yes, they're not current phones, but the only reason why I show these videos is that nobody made a comparison video on the current phones. But both phones were released in 2013 September, and it proves that the emulator is running perfectly on iPhone 5S thanks to the superior single core performance, but the Note 3 is struggling. Of course, today's Andorid phones run this game well, so the next comparison sould be the DosBox emulator. Unfortunately nobody made it.
