I own both oneplus one and oneplus x. I would say for the price of its absolutely perfect because the camera quality has increased to the level of Samsung s8, in low light also. The places I find difficult to understand are why they are not providing ois, memory card slot and quad HD instead of bumping up resolution? Also they need to decrease the price a bit

Not using Oreo in a flagship phone released in November 2017 should be a crime.

I don't care if you will update it later, this is unprofessional and lazy.

As a real prospective buyer, I'm currently using the sgs7e which I thought I could sport for over 3+ years but it turned out I disliked the "Samsung experience" the first month of use. Samsung always has a lag and user experience that simply lags over time. I bought it the first the day it was released coming from the Nexus 6P I and have regretted the switch.

What's important to me is the performance of the device over time and cost. The big manufacturers selling their devices for approximately 1k vs OP5T at half the price and likely better performance has definitely peaked my interest. I love the 6" immersive screen which I heard is sourced from Samsung, the fingerprint reader on the back and the super fast face unlock. I also heard that they tested the device in situations like dropping it in water with a quick retrieval rendered the device safe so in those instances they'll consider it "splash proof" w/o the IP rating. I love their dash charge feature is awesome.

In the end though I'm going to wait until the phones are in people's hands where they can review and find any flaws in the device under real time use.

To Expensive in the uk, o2 network on a contract have priced it more expensive monthly than a LG V30 is from carphone warehouse which is a £300 more expensive phone Even a galaxy s8 on contract is cheaper Than a 5T with same amount of Text/Call/Data is on 24month plans. ONEPLUS are fouls letting overpriced o2 be soul UK sellers.

Finerprint scanner in the back of the phone, is a no for me. Oneplus had a humble beginning. Much cheaper and great quality, for the price. Price/Performance was a good ratio. Now, they are increasing the price like other companies and is not a good sign. Features like dual speakers are dropped from OP3 onwards.

            NB : I own a Oneplus 3T

I was seriously considering to buy it, as my Samsung Note 4 is getting old. Two things stopped me, the first is its size. I won't buy a phone that's bigger than Note 4, which is already more than I can handle.
The second is the lack of a good DAC. Sound is very important for me and I would prefer a special DAC for my next handset.
On the other hand, the phone is not bad at all, considering its price and its other perks. Just not for me.

I think the first line is ironical as one plus "Never Settles"....
Anyway I think it is a good bargain for that price...

AnonD-606052, 19 Nov 2017No telephoto lens, so iPhone X or Note 8 are on my buy list... moreIf a telephoto lens means so much to you, why don't you buy a telephoto lens, a digital SLR or mirrorless camera, and a 5T, for the price of the iPhone X? Maybe you can get all those even cheaper than the iPhone.

It's a good hardware for that price but still with old OS. And will not get updated beyond Oreo for sure.

I never considered a OnePlus device until now, but the 5T has a great price and I am sure it doesn't have many hardware flaws. I am torn between the Essential and the OP5T.

I wanted the phone to be all glass body, smaller 5.3 inch display version of Oneplus 3T and focus on high end flagships like Xperia Z series for example with premium build quality aimed at for business users who's looking for Sony alternative and no it didn't live up to my expectation. Oneplus 5T IMO is the most boring looking phone Oneplus ever made. Metal body is uninspiring design lacks wireless charging, IP68 rating and IR blaster. A phone with high internal specs that cost €499 must have those flagship features without any excuses and there's never a price drop on Oneplus phones and once they're discontinued they announce new flagship killer after 6 months. I won't be surprised if they switch back to 5.5 inch display because 5T is not ergonomic friendly and will be the last 6 inch display Oneplus will make. This is why no one buys Oneplus products because of how unpopular their marketing campaign is advertised to get consumers hyped for nothing until Oneplus realise their phones can't compete with real flagships.

Needs to come in that sick Red color which Oppo R11s had, Black color is boring.

This is very good phone for price --only I wanted is more battery 4000m amps and not 18.9 but 16.9 aspect ratio on this phone --no need for 3.5 audio port --and phone companies should worry more about calls and call connectivity ,microphones and signal strength than stupidly going after cameras in phone -just a good camera is good enough ...after all it is a phone --more hard disk place doesn't hurt because there is no sd card space on this phone -put all the feature and charge little more $ is fine with me .

Should have introduced waterproofing now atleast...

AnonD-368020, 19 Nov 2017The points which you have listed like skins, stylus, dac et... moreThat's true. And even though i own a note8 and think it's the perfect phone for my needs, i have to give credit to oneplus for coming up with a pretty solid product in the 5t.

It's everything I want in a smartphone. I just wish they used larger sensors for the main cameras (like Sony IMX 278) and maybe added waterproofing and stereo front-facing speakers. A bigger battery wouldn't hurt either, but overall this is my favourite phone at the moment.

It would have been compelling if it had Qi wireless charging.
