If you actually think of it, the quick updates is actually a good thing for Sony's customers. Can you tell me what your phone is and what version and security patch youre currently in? Cause if you didn't get the same timely update as Sony devices, then your device must be one of those chinaphones.To all who got the update, cheers!

In muscat/Oman we have already got this update 4 days back yes sadly there is no desc for what is update is for we are egoly waiting for 8.0 update

Lol the only reason sony is so quick to update their phones is that they only have so few units to work with. That's how unpopular sony has become.

The OEMs need to add functions, app and whatever they need to Android.
If they all used Stock, the Android would not be much different from the 4.0 right now.

OEMs kinda made the android for every device. Even under same build number , you cannot install the firmware of S7 on S7 Edge.
Nor the one for Z5 on Z3+.
Example: Samsung has to adapt Oreo separatedly for S8, S8+, Note 8, Note 7 FE, S8 Active, S7, S7 Edge, S7 Active, A3 2017, A5 2017, A7 2017, A5 2018, A7 2018 and a few Galaxy C and J.
Every will have its own oreo.

The 42.0.A.4.133 update has a funny bug, when I switch to automatic time zone, it set my phone's time to Newfoundland and Labrador time, which is 1 and a half hour ahead of Ontario where I live. I wish Sony know this.

I don't understand OEM's virus they're all stuck with one version of android lower than the current latest one. At this rate I don't see the need of a Flagship phone against Mid-range or upper mid-range phones.

In my country S8/S8+ got october patch this week.
It should be november patch
