Samsung W2018 flip-phone to arrive on December 1

20 November 2017
The phone with two touch screens and a physical keyboard will be debut in China.

A pity that these Samsung clamshell smartphone series (Galaxy Folder, Leader and W) are restricted only to South Korea and China.
Curiously, neither in Japan (which also uses these types of devices quite a lot) Samsung launches them.

Maybe you need a physical keyboard.

AnonD-625621, 20 Nov 2017I wonder how many units are sold of thisI doubt this model sells well. A. It's costly. B. The body isn't atypical. I think it may be priced high on purpose to give buyers a sense of exclusivity. This model and price point remind me of Vertu phones (a super expensive British made, Turkish owned handset company for those that don't know) Later guys :-) .

Will they ever release any of their Android flip phones outside China/Asia?
Would love to buy one with decent specs for a supposedly-dumb phone lookalike for under 300$!

Just if they make actually good flip phone and actually pay attention to it..
I'll buy it if it was a good phone.
They are just making half baked fliphones as the market is too small..

Frankly, if I'm using a screen to watch movies or do some actual work/reading i'm not going to use my phone, it's just frustrating. Some people just want phones to be phones and not break their bank. Sure, if I can browse some watered down version of FB (the less the better) and receive Whatsapp messages that's a plus - but I don't need it to do everything else, because I do everything else on better suited products.

Clam-shell phones are not a gimmick, just outdated tech. If someone likes the style or satisfaction of opening and closing a phone physically, who are you to judge?

                                        1. DESPITE being much thicker. they are really pocketable.
                                        2. OCDs will understand it- that pleasing sound of the shell closing when you're done a use session with the phone.
                                        3. Oldies like me will understand- when using a clamsell and you're furious in a call. that slam close while screaming "BBYETCH!" In today's phones you just furiously smash a digital button of end call.
                                        need any more than this?
