If you mean the Note is not a flagship phone with flagship features there are no flagship phones at all! For me, it is the best phone you can buy at the moment and I am not the only of that opinion.

Microsoft may not be interested to make things right, they are continuing their mistakes even with Android. One Drive for Note 8 with Dual Sim is very buggy. At one time one could not send attachments through One drive to Samsung email, now One Drive cannot upload documents. There is a message which is displayed promoting users to connect to a wifi network even when they are connected. Google drive works more seamlessly, which is unfortunate if you have an Office 365 subscription.

WickedWilly36, 24 Nov 2017Why does it need to be flat? I have had one for a good few ... moreI guess it works for some of us. I actually spent time reading and doing work with it. The reflection on both side of the edges is terrible.
I've been buying samsung phones for the last 5 years, but the lack of a flagship phone (ideally from note series) is making me consider changing to another brand.

Bewildered , 24 Nov 2017Microsoft was just too slow Everybody had developed a Wind... morePlease give some references, because once people buzzed about various BSOD situation in Windows 8 on PC. many claimed issues to Windows Phone 8 and the OS is unstable.

A Windows 8 and Windows Phone 8 user and tester since January 2013.

Very few issues duo to outdated, forced drivers which malfunctions on PCs running Windows 8. No issue on Windows Phone 8. Then Microsoft instead of using 9 revision, called it 8.1 in order to be relevant. If Microsoft did not do this, then with memory of Windows Phone 7, nobody would even try the new OS.

Windows 10 and Mobile sibling of the OS were stable enough to run PCs for end users.

Again, before official announcement, news start to ruin the upcoming OS.
The reason is that, Nobody wants another Windows domination. Why?
Because Apple is unable to compete as it is closed platform for end user.
Google is unable to compete as the Chrome is not so secure and Android still needs restart in different occasion.

End users are population of more than 1 billion people around the globe who do not want to learn everything, everyday; do not want to spend more than 100$ on a phone.

Lumia 520 was the best sample to see why Android owners and iOS owners hate Microsoft products.
Lumia 520, a budget phone which is still more fluent than many android phone in its price range and a class upper.
A budget phone with iOS and the same functionality or less is equal to 6 Lumia 520.

the reality is what I told you. Do not bother yourself, because what I said is not forcasting, it is what Microsoft did since 1993 by Windows and Office.

Open-source all the way baby! That's the future.
Either catch up, either get lost.

The Scientist Pigeon, 24 Nov 2017Microsoft direct entrance into mobile world is based on tri... moreMicrosoft was just too slow
Everybody had developed a Windows 7 phone, Samsung LG, HTC.
Windows 7 was single core and non expandable, at a time when Android was Dual Core and expandable,

The delay in going to Windows 8 which was both Dual Core and expandable took too long so there was an abandonment by the Major Players

Windows 8 was a dream O/S and each update felt like you were using a new phone

Windows 10 is a toxic piece of programing that never worked nearly 2 years later it still can't be fixed

It was so bad that Microsoft have abandoned phone selling

              The warning signs were there
Every year Apple updates it phone OS, updated OS work on older models

Keeping the same numbers imagine that IOS 10 is the latest and the previous was IOS 8

So during testing IOS 10 causes multiple restarts, battery over heating and discharging quickly , plus many other failures

What Apple don't do is release IOS 10
MICROSOFT did just that as it wanted the Lumia 950 to running Windows 10 out of the box

People were reporting fault after fault after fault, in some phones total failure

Microsoft released it anyway, and like I said still can't fix the problem as each update causes a fault elsewhere

Windows 8 receive 5 updates without issue, instead of say holding back Windows 10 which we know is unfixable they did.

Even now Windows 8 can be updated , but phones running Windows 10 gave performance issues.
Even if Microsoft released a new OS phones on Windows 10 can't move to it as the toxic Windows 10 is still native

Microsoft should have just killed off Windows 10 kept Windows 8 an d progressively added the features promised in Windows 10

One step back to go forward

Due to security Microsoft does not need the security patches that Android need

                AnonD-705970, 23 Nov 2017Windows + lagwizz = lag x 2000This is non-sense, lag on high-end phones is so 2013-2014.

Microsoft direct entrance into mobile world is based on trial and error.
When they failed to reach high level of demand or even maintain what Windows Mobile should be until 2009, making a phone and find the market was best way, but how to know if people like Microsoft as a brand or just services!?!

Kin was a failure in feature phone realm and Lumia a failure in Smartphone.

Why Microsoft wants to sell android phones? First, Razer Phone and then Samsung High ends!

The reason behind the decision is that, Microsoft during trial and error game, established a attacker which its name was Arrow Launcher and now is Microsoft Launcher.

with the specific workforce to develop such Launcher and now a free of charge with few bugs visible to naked eyes. Improve the launcher everyday, catch end users everyday, and finally offer them such speedy, organized and optimized UI and call it Microsoft UI.

The point: services which are unknown to people who instead of saying "Search the web" will say "Google it" will become preinstalled or recommended as a package with cortana full control over them.

So, the more powerful android handsets offer by Microsoft, the better reputation for the brand from people; because typical people don't understand what makes the launcher fast and fluid is under the hood. Microsoft gradually compare these high ends with its launcher to well-known mid rangers or even low ends and call its launcher best available in the market.

Microsoft will continue this, until its recently growing seeds turns into a big tree.

I have had one for a good few weeks now, the round edges are a large part of how good it looks and as a bonus, it feels better in the hand because of them. There are no downsides as far as I can see, I have zero accidental touches or other issues. The edge is really a reason to buy the Note along with the fact it is an amazing phone.
