Kyo, 28 Nov 2017It's a separate processor just for the camera and from my u... moreThe reason why there is a cpu dedicated to the camera processing has little to do with perf or battery life. If anything theyre lucky side effects.
Its there because future improvements to hdr+ will be in firmware instead of regular software, so that it become very hard to copy.
Right now you can literally run it on a galaxy s8 and other phones, and since its google biggest differenciator you can see why theyd want to protect it better.

Anonymous, 27 Nov 2017And what the hell can the """visual corre""" actually do ex... moreIt's a separate processor just for the camera and from my understanding it is meant to reduce delay times,save battery,etc but that doesn't really happen except for using it with Google camera so this update.
In reality it's just a dud processor unlike in Nokia 808 where it was actually used.This update or not this processor will continue to be useless.
