28 November 2017
A couple of weeks ago, the same cyber security research firm was able to crack Face ID using a previous version of this mask.

Akinaro, 28 Nov 2017As far as I saw, even if FaceID work good, its damn hilario... moreNah, your point is invalid and you probably never held a iPhone X.. all i do is pick up the phone and swipe up, dont have to hold the phone like a selfie or so.. yes i did like touch id more then face id, but it works damn fine.. 95% of the times i unlock my phone it just instantly unlocks with faceid..

ZloiYuri, 28 Nov 2017Oh really? What about leucocytes? Su much uneducated people... moreYou'll note I didn't mention leukocytes, and they only exist in trace amounts (~0.1 %) in blood. Epithelial cells aren't a blood component, and there are no other cells normally circulating in blood. The only thing I've missed in my life are arguments with people like you, and I'll happily keep missing that.

Hahahaha it's better to just laugh than to say a lot of things, etc. This video really deserve to be seen in all around the globe (from those in a way or another interested to the regard). Plus obviously compliments to the guy...

Why not ultrasonic FP scanner, instead of capturing 2D image of the fingerprint, it render 3D structure of the fingerprint including the pore, and it also work when your hand wet

Its nice toy, but sorry, I would rather unlock my phone in less than half a second with my finger, that weirdly is still hard to crack even today."

awkward to use? no-one knows you are using it, and no you definately don't use it like taking selfie. Use your phone like normally you would use and it will open. No extra adjustment needed. When you look towards the screen it unlocks. You don't even have to be front of your phone, you can be like 6 inch side and it still works. The IR dots spreads very widely.

By the way finger have cracked years ago.. Also only thing where finger unlock is faster is if you only want to get homescreen as fast as possible. everywhere else face ID is faster. For example if you have notifications on your lockscreen, you press the notification and it goes right away to the app. with fps scanner you have to press the scanner after you press notification. Or for example using safari and autofill passwords, that is real magic. When you go to site where you have this option, you don't have to do anything and the username and passwords fills automaticly.

Coz unlike the occurance of owner waking up while you make contact, taking a selfie pose is much harder right SMH....

Face unlock to open your phone and iris scanner+face unlock to use with business transaction.

Invent DNA-ID instead. Either lick your screen or put thumb tack on touch-id button that will identify you through your blood.

you must really really really need that data on the iphone x if you go thru all that process of duplication the owners face, and its not just ordinary process, you need to go the very extra mile to just unlock an iphone x

You can trick fingerprints as well. In terms of difficulty, they are actually very close. It's just that "fingerprint duplication" has been around a bit longer. In fact, you can also bypass weak 4-pin passwords as well.

So what does it all mean?
It means, the masses want some thing with "relative security" but at the highest convenience. FaceID is more convenient if you are taking a selfie, but if you are using the phone generally, then TouchID is more convenient. A pincode is more convenient if you are going to text with two hands, and are positioned to do so.

And suddenly Madame's Tussauds museum has another meaning :)

This is jjust stupid add on because they dont know what to research and just took money from poor.
So basic people pay for a stupid add on which will never be properly worked and buy an overpriced phone because rather to invest in batteries so they could last as long as a Nokia 3310 on a single charge they making this crap and forcing us to buy.
Same like phones with no headophone jack. I know soon no phone will have it same like batteries which can be easily replaced but who on the earth would like to have this stupid thing in phone which will never works anyway.
Waste of money on that stupid technology and we pay for it despite nobody asked us basic people if we want they to continue to develop and research on Face ID.
These companies are clumsy as sole shoes on farmer boots.

For average person not much of an issue for celebs yup its an issue and iris scanner is much better no one can copy your iris atleast not with $150 but fastest is obviously fingerprint

If someone has access to your face and funds enough to make this mask, I'd say you have bigger things to worry about. It's both easier and far cheaper to trick a fingerprint sensor.

Biometric security on its own is inherently insecure. They need to be used as a part of a two factor authentication to make any sense if you care about security. Anything else is just convenience.
