the whole nexus / pixel thing both amazes and confuses me at the same time.

realistically it's unfinished hardware running beta software. this is by design and google doesn't hide this fact. yet people still shell out the money for these phones and throw a tantrum when stuff doesn't work perfectly.

jeez, lab rats don't have to line up and pay to be lab rats, nor do they complain when the experiments go poorly. on the bright side, google's experiments with pixel owners don't have the same finality to them.

I have definitely seen the issue a few times, but it only happens around the same time of day. Clearing recent apps seems to keep it from happening. Not a big deal. The Pixel 2 has been great for me. It is so fast and smooth. I love the size. It is very pocket friendly. Those that complain about looks must be vain. For me the important functions of the phone are the camera, screen, and battery. Google has nailed it on all three of these with this device. It feels great in hand and it is a joy to use. Knowing that any minor bugs will be promptly addressed is a big advantage of Google hardware versus third party manufacturers who may take many months to roll out similar fixes.

Haters are always gonna hate. There is no perfect phone out there. Find the phone that works for you. The Pixel 2 is that phone for me.

And the most buggy phone awards goes to Pixel 2 and Iphone x second .i mean 1000 euro phones and they are shit i have them both in my shop .for 1000 they shoul work no bugs .so dear apple and google how much foir a bugless phone ? 2000 euro and how much time ?4 years pathetic .we are threated like some experiments but we pay for this shit .do not buy this trash get some under 500 phones and u will be more happy. big companies with big prices OMG get some rest pls for the next year

This is what I hate most about android, it's not a stable operating system and even in 2017 the s8 has been known to randomly reboot as well causing you to lose unsaved data and potentially all your tabs in chrome as well as all your incognito tabs because google refuses to allow extensions in chrome.

I have an iPad and it has never crashed and restarted, and safari has never crashed and I have never lost a tab in safari. I don't like the way Apple is going, $1000 for the iPhone X and no headphone jack, plus max 1080p screen and no sd card compared to 2k screens on android.

At the moment though I feel like I have no choice but to get ripped off by Apple. I wish the duopoly could get broken up. The invention of mobile apps locked us into mobile ecosystems, if only HTML could be as powerful as a replacement then there could be more mobile os competitors

Kyo, 29 Nov 2017Welcome to the world of pixel/nexus.I too was fooled once t... morealso if you are honest at least you can admit that almost every OS and Skin on has these kinds of problems where the first version of a major update is kinda trash and filled with bugs, lollipop was pretty bad on my old nexus 6 but android 5.1 was really good, not a single problem spotted. Even Apple has these kind of problems and they are considered as the best in terms of software optimization. Also Samsung's TW stopped being so laggy and slow after the Galaxy s7 came out, that is one hell of a time they took to figure out software optimization.

Welcome to the world of pixel/nexus.I too was fooled once to buy a Nexus because of all the trolls bashing TouchWiz and saying how good Nexus stock Android was but then I got the lollipop update with random crashes, memory leakage so bad that sometimes even the phone dialer and contacts would crash(yes without any app open in the background).Worst of all it took Google 6 months to fix this.

Thank you all for purchasing a Google Pixel Insider subscription Edition 2017! This device is a pre-release and contains experimental features and hardware such as Microphone, Screens, Cameras and Oreos. As such, you may encounter bugs.
Update for December: We have identified the source of 2000 bugs in the product (about 5%, yay!) which was that SOMEONE... put actual Oreos in the product.

Thank you for your purchase. The program will be over when the product will be stable enough for everyday use. We plan to go from Alpha (actual stade) to Beta in Q1 2019, with Stable release in Q4 2022.

Pixel 2 must be release without internal check or may be it was given to those google employees who didn't had the honesty to acknowledge the problems.

I have officially lost track of the numbers of problems this pixel 2 has. Is the phone still in beta??
