Samsung working on a WP7 version of the Galaxy S II?

04 July, 2011
After sparking a furor in the Android world with its I9100 Galaxy S II flagship, Samsung is obviously considering lending the form factor to another platform. A particularly juicy rumor has it that...

I'm reading through the comments and it appears like every second post is someone b!tching about another person writing their own personal opinion about a phone and/or OS and then you continue to do the same thing about the phone/OS YOU like. Just let each other be, you're adults so be respectful! Jeez.... Everyone has their own taste, opinion... accept that and move on.

I'm not a fan at ALL of Window's OS, but that doesn't mean it isn't great for some people. I do prefer Android over all others, but again that's my opinion! I like Android because it suits exactly what I want it to, and I love getting new phones every year **phone lover** so the case of not being able to update the SAME phone for years to come isn't an issue for me. **please note I am saying this all because of how it affects ME ..NOT with how it will affect OTHERS**
WP7 is great for people who want the simpicity of the older phones with the added features of the new generation of smart phones.

Now to throw a spanner in the works, I'm not a fanatic about Android but I do prefer them. I also have an iPhone 4 and its great also, I use both phones one for business and one for pleasure (iphone - business while android - pleasure) and I do really like it.

Now please take a step back and quit you're complaining about other people's OPINION!

WP7 my choice for Operating System; Nokia my choice for hardware...

HTC, SAMSUNG, LG, MOTOROLA is nowhere near Nokia (design/quality wise)!

Yes, Microsoft, at this particular moment, does not run dual core but it does not mean WP7/Nokia will not.

I rather buy WP7/NOKIA even with a 1.2ghz 1.4ghz or 1.5ghz knowing im getting the smootesth user interface and great build device and wait for dual core, no problem for me!

My $$$ will be spent on Nokia/WP7! Hopefully them phones arrive soon to Sprint!

but does WP7 can fully optimize the dual processors present or would it just be a gimmick?

WP7 is considerably faster bec. it has nothing to really display visually aside from the tiles and texts

So now what ? A new crap by a crap comany . There are already many craps with this crap os . Nokia is going to kill itself by this crap os , samsung is the same . Today we need 'Meego' , because in future there will be only 2 os in future , 1st Meego , 2nd Symbian 4 or 5 . Believe it or not .

Anonymous, 05 Jul 2011You wish. If you want "amazing" camera, you will ... moreSorry thats not true you can have an amazing camera with the phone be really bulky. i am not a fan boy i use Android i dont a WP7 i am just fed up of people talking about dual core likes its the be all and end all when nobody has really put in a real test for it yet. it is a way to sell phones and it works. I was also saying that windows does not use one and it is smoother than Android. Also if you did read i noted that Nokia will be using one. also they screens use alomed tech with a clear black display yes it not like Samsung but i would rather have a better build quality.

Not everyone is interested in 16MPix in a phone, in fact what really matters is the "lens resolution". The higher the lens resolution, the higher the price of the camera. And how do you know how the processor used by Nokia will compare with the SGS 2 processor? Tegra 2 sucks btw. SGS 2 is the only one capable to play 1080p flash videos smoothly.
And how about the screen? Do you think Nokia can come up with something better than Super Amoled Plus? Dream on, fan(atic) boy!

Anonymous, 05 Jul 2011Some of you say that WP7 is good because of updates, suppor... moreWho says Windows phone won't support quad-core CPUs and qHD displays in 2012.
Besides, nothing is future proof. To be honest WP7 is more future proof than android because all WP7 phones receive OS updates and will continue to receive, but sooner or later there won't be any new updates for current android phones, like desire and galaxy s.

"WP7 is so fast becase it can hardly be called a True os in its current revision."

Guess you haven't heard of mango. Very feature rich and still faster than the competition.

I dont care if they do put a dual core in the phone it does not make any difference it already runs smooth. Sorry but i would have to go
with Nokia on this one Samsung build is truly and utterly crap it is the biggest pile junk plastic ever.

With Nokia you will get an amazing camera as standard and for all tech heads a dual core (for no other purpose so you can boast that you have dual core, because so far nobody has done anything with it worth the hype)is coming which will be wrapped up in a metal body so i guess its the screen but after seeing clear black tech i will still go with Nokia.

Of course, if this does come out later on, I hope they adjust the specs to make sure it competes with other devices. Not saying that the Samsung Galaxy S II's specs are bad but it did come out around 2 months ago and specs change very quickly even over a short period of time.

Some of you say that WP7 is good because of updates, support, etc. But can't you see that this particular HW is not future proof at all.The world will be switching to 720p screens and 4core processors this fall and WP in 2012 will have to evolve to survive, at least to dual core and 960x540 resolution. And you will get sth. like WP8 lite edition. and WP7 is so fast becase it can hardly be called a True os in its current revision.
