As promised Xiaomi released Orea update within this year. Off-course they called to signup for Beta Testers(till not released). i bought the device thought of getting update very fast as it is google pet project. Other brands already pushed the orea update. And only couple of week left for this year. Now they called for beta testing program also no kernal source till now. Wasted my money on this phone.

Dilmeet, 05 Dec 2017The whole concept of Android One was to get software suppor... moreThat is the old concept of Android One...the new concept of Android One is Google won't be updating those phone directly as Google have give the manufacturers all the control of updating Android One device beside in A1 there two apps which not develop by Google which is the camera (dual) and IR blaster...since Google haven't release a phone with dual camera in Pixel and IR blaster, a modification need to be done on Oreo update by manufacturers before they can release an updates...

GSMarena why you are posting only good news. If you go on MIUI forum you can there are so many users stuck with buggy roms. and Most selling devices are ignored by this ignorant company i.e. redmi 3s and note 3 in case of android upgrades. This company never make list of android upgrade plans. This company more and more is getting like other companies, moneater.

Lol, just be grateful it gets updated quite fast and is promised to get updated until Android P.
You want day 1 timely update? Pay more, get a Pixel. Android One is not Pixel or Nexus. Where else you can get promise like this for cheap and almost stock android phone?

I would rather MiA1 not to update Oreo 8.0 until is fully bugs free, the November Patch update recently actually cause more problems,
GPS signal issue (Can't log in position & GPS signal fluctuate)
3G & 4G phone signal issues (keep switching between 3G & 4G)
Lower battery life (SOT 5hr to 4hr)
I guess Xiaomi received many complaints which is why there delay the update & have Beta testers to rectify issue before the stable update.

Sony and Htc... moreYou gave the answer youself, the phone currently receiving android oreo are all flagship devices and xiaomi mi A1 is a budget oriented device and at the launch event, Xiaomi and google said that this device will surely receive oreo update within 2017, and i don't think that 2017 has ended, so keep patience and wait for it. If it is not delivered before 31st dec 2017, only then complain about it

So yeah, wait and it should be there soon.
