It's really a deal breacker for some people...nokia used to have them in lots of phones....i just really need one in a phone..its not like its some super expensive complicated deal since most SoCs have it but they just seem to be ignored. this could be a first for an android...of course dont skip on the other goodies dual core cpu. Dual channel mem tegra2 or sgx430 or omap 4. You know...a proper flagship !!!

Also, it is highly unlikely HTC will be bringing entirely new hardware technology to the marketplace, it does not really fit with their view on mobile phones (ease of use and practical application of the device is number one with HTC, not necessarily new technology but the integration and smooth operation of exisiting technology).

It's only necessary to put some static image (screen on), during several hours (I have not tested how many) but in the shop when I have seen this effect, every amoled-superamoled Samsung had this problem . (the shop had an advertise on the screen in every model which caused the burn in effect, but moreover some icons also had been "burnt" the screen.

Hey friends- a few questions to the lucky guys that are the first to own one:
Is there a DEDICATED CAMERA BUTTON, yes or no?
How long does it take to unlock the phone, activate the camera and shoot a pic? Especially a 3D pic?
How good is the sound take in videos? I've compared my optimus ONE's sound capture with a friend's iphone 4 and mine was really poor in comparison.
Also, what about the led flash: is it any strong?
I'll also second the question whether 3d recordings can be watched on a 3d screen. I think I've seen an autostereoscopic asus laptop the other day... not that I can afford it, though!

They're not performing reviews with long period of observation. To tell you, not all S.Amoled units have that issue, mine doesn't have, as well as my friends'.

Bear in mind that amoled and superamoled screen has "burn in" effect. I have seen it clearly on a SG2 with just 1 month of use (intensive). Why GSMARENA don't tell us about that?
I wish good triumph for LG 3D. Others manufactures are necessary.

ben_chod, 07 Jul 2011Can you watch your videos on a 3D TV? or just the phone? I ... moreIndeed you can plug the Optimus 3D directly into a 3DTV and watch the (720p) video it captures in 3D. They should be easy enough to play by other means too, they are pretty standard 720p 30fps SBS H264 MP4.
Of note however is that there is no HDMI cable bundled with the phone. Fortunately they are cheap on eBay.
Its a shame it doesn't output true 720p per eye though. I can only guess its the overhead of having to calculate the image overlap during real-time video capture that makes it not practical. At this point, optimising to get a sharper image would be more useful.

I work for LG and if you want to watch 3D v... moreYou say you work for lg. nice to see that you guys actually drop your ears on the people and listen and read forums...i'm sure a few manufacturers dont do it...like say nokia...the sinking ship :D Anyway, i want to ask you if you could estimate how good or bad the optimus 3d could be if used to make a very low budget indie movie. If you google ''like crazy sold for'' you'll find that this ''like cray'' movie was mae with a fairly cheap piece of equipment, a dslr camera shooting at 1080p at 24p..could you sugest to your guys at lg that they somehow inlude some settings in a future update..like 24 fps interlaced, progressive, etc)...Also do you think it had an acceptable color range reproduction for a low budget indie movie ? Maybe that could be an area where some aditional settings could be aded..i dont know what is currently available, i can't afford an optimus 3d, but i sure will buy one for my next phone. ps: you might wanna try and get the gingerbread update for your phones.

Imgine if you wanna make a indie movie. not only you can do it in hd, whih 2 years ago was too expensive for any ''poor'' indie production like say a few grands, but you can do it in 3d !!!

war against all manufacturers outside US is declared, first with nokia to adopt another os in place of symbian now against samsung. These american manufacturers are so agressive and they want this market for themselves
