AnonD-696746, 07 Dec 2017i had the LG G6 with SD821 ans changed for an essential wit... moreThats why i said manufacturers makes newer versions of socs. Mainly because they want to improve efficiency. But in terms of usability and power sd821 is powerful enough for any user.
Plenty of lowend phones still uses quad core 1,4ghz or now octa core 1.4gh with 28nm or 20 nm architecture build, but does it mean that it cant run a game? It can run a game, 80% of games. Paired with plenty of ram it can run anything. Now 4gb ram will become standard for low end phones paired with octacores 2.0ghz, but frankly speaking whats difference between 1,4ghz or 2,0ghz if it's build on same architecture? Maybe 20% better.
Everything is in numbers. And they succeeded. I was certain my next phone will be Sd835, after this im not so sure. Pretty words, bigger numbers... On second thought it is what it is. Everyone wants the best, but nobody knows that there hardly exist a game which uses 6 cores. Even 4 cores... Thats why Apple is winning single core game. Cuz they see that duo core(now they adopted 4 or 6) can be even greater than 8 combined.

Al, 08 Dec 2017Having 6GB RAM is objectively better than having 3GB RAM. Not if what you're evaluating is energy consumption ;).

AnonD-708613, 08 Dec 2017oh..see the smoothness 4k60fps in iphone?
huawei mate 1... moreSeriously. Oh Samsung has 512gb flash chips that run extremely fast. Who cares.
16GB is more than enough.
Not too long ago who needed more than 720p or 1GB of ram. Even 512MB.
And dont forge the power and also added efficiency of the new SoCs is not ever needed.

oh..see the smoothness 4k60fps in iphone?
huawei mate 10pro with so called "AI" stutter when panning around with just 1080p60fps. a total disgrace.
now, i know cavemens will come and say "who need 4k60fps anyway".
its like you are saying who need more than 1TB 10 years ago.
or a diskette is more than enough 30 years ago.
or eye cant see more than 60fps
come on. go and live in cave pls

omg, apple are so weak. who use 3GB nowadays. 6GB > 3GB. its facts number
Apple benchmark 40%> Android benchmark
omg, who see number anyway. its not like you can use all the raw power. its just benchmark. no real life diff. its just numbers
see the familiarity?

Today I had another experience with the incredible ios. My cousin's daughter iPhone 7 plus was turning down by itself. Basically the screen was turning black a loading wheel would appear and then the locker screen.
I searched online for solutions and I immediately found that it was an ios problem many other users were having.
I was lucky that by installing ios 11.2 it was fixed, other people weren't that lucky unfortunately.
What I've noticed using ios was how unorganized the phone was, full of folders on the home screen, how awfull the notification system and widgets were and in general how childish ios looks(funny enough its perfect a 14 year old girl).
Now it 10 minutes of using the iphone 7 plus it stuttered a couple of times while going back and forth in the settings menu.
The battery also went down by 14% and all I did was to install the update. My Mi A1 loses at max3-4% doing the same process.
So to me ios 11 loocked like a real mess.
What I'm saying is that Apple, iOS, iPhones in general are quite overated.

Instead of promising needed enhancements like enhanced slow motion video recording, new benchmarks in audio playback/ video recording, etc, these guys are focusing on AI, which basically will give companies more access to our personal life & habits... something which I don't recall consumers asking for.
I was so expecting new video recording modes like 720@480 fps, 1080p@240 fps, etc. and also new standards in audio recording and playback, but instead look what we're getting!
I want to be honest: If today Apple opens its ecosystem(partially or fully) towards memory cards, file management, apps, etc., does the Android realm stand a chance?

i really don't understand all this. Yes, processor getting faster and faster but what's the point if the COOLING capabilities not up to the task yet? All this translate into thermal throttling mess. It will mess with consistency of the smartphone and i really hate inconsistency when for example, playing games (frame-rate drops).

I'm ONLY interested in better battery-life, which is mostly dependent on the screen, SD 660 or 820 Lite is fast enough for me. I use a 400 now and it does most of what I need.

[deleted post]Oh, I do know do know how SoC's work. My remark to John was facetious. He claimed I didn't understand how SoC's work, and that by merely adding more silicon, Qualcomm could make their SoC's even better than Apple's.
That's just false. I just wanted John to grasp that by realising he couldn't explain a bit of what he pretended to know.
Perhaps I should ask the same of you.
